Bellahøj Skole
Bellahøj Skole
Bellahøj Skole is a public school in the outskirts of Copenhagen. We teach students from level 0 to level 9 which means we have students from years 5-6 to 15-16. Our students come with a lot of different nationalities. We have around 900 students and 60 teachers. The school's motivation to join the project is to strengthen our secondary level - at the moment we have one line which is for talented students into sports, and we need some more offers for our students to make them choose or/and stay in our school. Also we have a lot of students that are in risk of leaving school without anyeducation and we want to make them interested in getting more education
IES Praia Barraña
IES Praia Barraña
IES Praia Barraña, is a public high-school located in Boiro (A Coruña, Galicia), a small seaside town in the northwest of Spain. The high-school has 44 staff members, 41 of them teachers, and 428 learners aged from 12 up to 18 years old. It offers two different levels of education: secondary education, from 12 to 16 years old, and further education, from 16 to 18 years old; divided into three curriculum paths: Humanities and Social Sciences, Arts, and Science and Technology). Most of the students are local, both from downtown and from the surrounding rural area. The number of immigrant students is low and they come mostly from South America, namely Chile and Colombia. The high-school has some students with specific needs (some of them with Down syndrome and others with a moderate to strong mental disability). These students have their own classroom and commodities, as well as specialised teachers. The main motivation of IES Praia Barraña to join this project is that we believe that, due to the capital importance that education has in their future, early school leaving is one of the most unwise decisions students can make. We also believe that, to address this challenge, all the educational community must work together.
