Here's a new announcement!
The TIP model can be described as a model that helps practitioners and students to “feel empathy more and use empathy better”.
The TIP model began in clinical practice, developed based on emotion and empathy studies, and explored with a statistical method based on physiological synchrony.
With a simple procedure, the TIP model is expected to be applied in a variety of settings and fields.
The TIP model is marked by a straightforward 3-step procedure; Tonic synchrony, Intervention, and Phasic synchrony.
It suggests that service providers (counselors, psychologists, physicians, medical staff, educators, business people, and leaders) carefully pay attention to their person of interest to physio-emotionally connect with them.
It indicates that these people demonstrate their genuine care and congruence to develop the quality of connection with others.
The TIP model is also marked by its potential application. The TIP model would improve not only the outcome of psychological care, but also of medical care, learning in both formal and informal educational settings, job satisfaction and performance in business, and leadership in organizations of any kind.
There are many positive voices about the effect of TIP model training. Here are some examples:
"Got better awareness of what's going on between us in my clinical work" (Physician)
"The training gave me this insight that whether it's work or private conversation, empathy is important in relationship". (Psychologist)
"I'd like to use the TIP model in my everyday life". (Public health nurse)
"I have less difficulty in initiating conversation with someone I meet for the first time"(Psychologist)
"Listening to other people is now less difficult" (Public health nurse)
"After the training, I have less fear of meeting people for the first time" (Psychologist)
"Got my ability to listen to others and to respond effectively trained very much" (Public health nurse)
Figure: Empathic behaviors in sessions increased as the training got deepened.
