Can parents sit and watch rehearsals on Concert Day?
Unfortunately, parents are not permitted to watch the stage rehearsals. We need all the children to be focused, settled, and working as a team. We have found that this is best achieved when they do not have an audience before the show. There is a fantastic waiting area for parents at the venue, where you can sit down and relax whilst you wait. Thank you for being so understanding with regard to this.
Do I need to purchase a ticket for my child who is performing?
Toddlers in tutus students and and children who only do acro will need to a FREE 'Dance Hub Student' ticket via try booking so they have a seat with you in the audience between their dances. Pre-school Kombo, Kindy Kombo & Year 1 Kombo will be in our care backstage throughout the show.
Do I have to change my child’s costume during the concert?
If your child is in a Kombo class, teachers and helpers backstage will change their costumes throughout the show. A parent with a wristband can come backstage during the interval to check on them. Toddlers in Tutu's changing of costumes is the parents’ responsibility. This can be done by the parent with a wristband during the interval, ready for Act 2.
What do I do with the costumes after the concert?
All costumes are to be returned at the duration of the concert in your labelled garment bag. Collection bags will be allocated within the dressing room and will be checked off by a staff member to ensure all costumes and accessories are returned.
If we haven't received a bag with your child’s name on it by their next class, you will be charged a $70 replacement fee per costume. This same fee will be charged if any costumes are returned damaged.
What do I pack for the concert?
A small, costume friendly snack.
Please note: NO NUTS! Food containing nuts are not permitted as we have children attending the concert with life-threatening allergies.
Water only
Bobby pins x 1 million
Safety pins
Hairspray
All costumes, stockings and shoes required
Any spares or extra you have of anything (stockings, shoes, hair ties etc)
The rule is usually to pack everything you can think of! If you have two of something, please pack them both just in case a friend is missing something. It’s better to take more than you need than not have enough. If you forget anything you may be required to run home and get it!
The other rule is to please label EVERYTHING!
Can my child wear jewellery to the concert?
Colourless studs or small sleepers are the only jewellery we can allow! Everything else will be removed before the concert begins to be picked up at the end of the concert.
No nail polishes on fingers please and no temporary tattoos!
Can I take photos of my child backstage?
Due to strict privacy laws, no photographs are to be taken in the change rooms or in the backstage area.
Are there still classes after the concert?
YES! Our classes will run as normal after the concert, with the final day of classes on Saturday, December 20th 2025.
