The 2024 Workshop "Matrices and Operators" (MAO 2024)

Purpose:

The purpose of the workshop is to promote research and collaboration among researchers with an interest in matrix theory, operator theory, operator algebras, and related topics. Participants are encouraged to present their latest findings and discoveries, and share their experiences and research problems, fostering an atmosphere of collaboration and mutual learning. Through dialogue and knowledge exchange, the workshop aims to enhance the collective growth and development of the research community involved in matrix theory, operator theory, operator algebras, and related fields.

Events and Schedules 

• Registration will be open from 4-5pm on Friday, June 14, 2024 and 8-8:20am on Saturday, June 15, 2024 on the ground floor of Davidson Mathematics and Science Center. The UNR campus map would be helpful for participants. 

• All talks will be scheduled on Saturday and Sunday, June 15-16, 2024 in Davidson Mathematics and Science Center. The meeting room is DMSC 103. Research discussion among collaborators will be conducted on Monday, June 17, 2024 in DMSC 315. 

• Conference dinner is to be held at 5:30pm on Saturday, June 15, 2024. It is free for the speakers and participants. The dinning place is Palais de Jade, 960 West Moana Lane, #107, Reno, NV 89509; Phone:  (775) 827-5233. https://palaisdejadereno.net/ 

• Lake Tahoe Excursion 12:30-5:30pm on Sunday, June 16, 2024. Conference party at Tin-Yau Tam's house at 6:15pm on Sunday, June 16, 2024.

• Participants need to confirm with Pan-Shun Lau plau@unr.edu by May 15, 2024 if they can come.

• There is no registration fee.

Travel and Accommodation

• Reno is a tourist city. Travel and hotel information can be found on the internet.

Submission of Abstracts

• Participants who want to give a talk should send the title and abstract by May 15, 2024 to Pan-Shun Lau (plau@unr.edu) using the LaTeX template. Each talk is 25 minutes + 5 minutes questions. 

• If you need an acceptance letter for your talk or invitation letter, please email Tin-Yau Tam (ttam@unr.edu).
