Image 1 - Illusion: "Outdoor Beauty"
For this image, I wanted to juxtapose the feeling of relaxation from within households to a physical location in which that relaxation often occurs. Placing multiple TVs on top of each other that all hold different images of sunsets or skylines creates the idea that trying to observe every angle of the world's beauty might cause you to miss out on what in front of you. The second TV from the bottom actually hold the sunset that occurred in the originally photo. It's hard to take in that beautiful sunset when also trying to take in the beauty of the different scenes.
Image 2 - Repetition: "Safe Havens"
For the repetition prompt, I wanted to play around with what the symbols of lighthouses represents. For boats in the vast ocean, lighthouses are a symbol of safety and comfort. Having them repeat into the horizon enhances this feeling of safety in which the birds are indulging in. However, danger lurks on the edges as a cat creeps up to disrupt the bird's relaxation.
Image 3 - Transformation: "Sandcastles On Our Beach"
No matter what world you're on, where there is sand there is sandcastles. But as opposed to Earth, this planet has a green sky, purple sand, and some weird aliens who are uniquely architectural about their sandcastle.
Image 4 - Revealing/Concealment: "Because I was Born"
Though the quote comes from a nihilist, in this context it is oddly comforting. The beauty of this world is so vast and relaxation is everywhere. As a human, I get to expereince it all, but why have I recieved this right? It's simple: Because I was born.
