The are sixty three known Earth Sheltered residential dwellings in the UK at the moment. Thirty one of these dwellings have been granted planning consent in the open countryside. Dr Jerry Harrall (the architect behind the Timsbury Deeping proposal) has designed and had built thirteen of these.

Probably the best working example of Earth Sheltering in operation in the UK is the Hockerton Housing Project in Nottinghamshire. This project started in 1996 and is still in operation and evolving. Click the link below for more information.
