Detox is a process or period of time in which one abstains from or rids the body of toxic or unhealthy substances.
What does this mean for you? How toxic do you think you are? Do you listen to the signals your body is sending you? Everyone on the planet needs to detox. Our ancestors used to detox in the spring from the heavy winter diet of starchy root vegetables and preserved meats. They ate the first spring greens in abundance which were mostly bitter and gave the liver cause to purge. Today we need to detoxify on a much larger scale as we breathe toxic air, drink toxic water and eat foods often laden with toxins, preservatives or even foods which are highly processed and now become food like substances (think snack foods, processed cheeses).
Nature has provided us with very powerful herbs to help our organs release the forever chemicals aka PEP (persistant environmental polluntants), and things like denatured oils which are usually seed oils heated at very high temperatures which change their physical structures to the point where our cells no longer can use them. They end up being stored in fat and in the liver and other organs until we can enlist the help of herbs and special binders to remove them and free up the pathways.
Restoring health by cleansing is a process and we start first with the organs of elimination, the urinary and digestive tract. Once they are cleaned up we can move on to the liver and gall bladder and lungs. If you're interested in embarking on internal spring cleaning, get in touch.
