Richard "Ricky" Williams Aspinwall II
"Coach A"
June 15, 1985 - September 5, 2024
Richard “Ricky” William Aspinwall, II, loving husband, devoted girl dad, cherished son and beloved coach and teacher, passed away a hero on September 4, 2024.
Ricky was so proud to be Coach “A” to many. He loved his students and players. He will forever be remembered for his dedication to education, earning his master’s degree and then specialist degree (Ed.S). Ricky not only created a fun classroom for his students, he was exemplary as a football coach throughout his time at Haralson County High School, Mountain View High School and Apalachee High School. It was more than football to him; it was about creating a positive sense of community and being a role model for the kids. He left a lasting impression on his students and players throughout the years.
His pride and joy was his family. He was a devoted husband to Shayna, who he met in 2008 and married in 2016, and a loving dad to his two little girls, Addison and Emery. He was the ultimate girl dad and would do anything for his girls, including playing Barbies, building pirate ships, playing rocket ship and braiding their hair.
Between 2020 and 2023, Ricky and Derek forged a lasting friendship while coaching football together at Mountain View High School in Lawrenceville, GA. The Tiller family is dedicated to preserving the enduring legacy of ‘Coach A’ through this scholarship fund, ensuring that his remarkable contributions are forever remembered.
