The goal of this database and overall website is to provide a common "dining table" for language teachers, teacher educators, and researchers to take from shared resources. This database gathers collections of videos and related media that document: teachers teaching, learners experiencing that teaching, learners using the target language when interacting with teachers and other learners, learners completed assessments, and other supporting documentation such as texts that learners have read in print, on classroom walls, on chalk/white boards and projector screens, and teachers' lesson plans and notes.
Each collection is meant to provide a model for teachers to see other teachers in action, to watch and learn. Teacher educators can similarly use these videos for assignments for pre-service teachers.
Language teachers, teacher educators, and researchers should also have complete enough data to be able connect a learner's experience in the classroom with learning outcomes, documented in learner writing samples, videos of learners interacting, videos of learners describing pictures and telling stories, and other forms of assessment.
This database was inspired by other learner corpus databases, including MAELC, VILLA, SLABank, SBCSAE, and others.
