This is a work which is an abridgement of Vālmīki-Rāmāyaṇam into about 680 ślokas (one śloka per sarga). It is in a beautiful vṛtta called Śārdūlavikriḍita and has eight alliterations in each śloka. It was written by a great satpuruṣa called Pattamaḍai Subrahmaṇya Śāstrigaḷ (1830-1910). The author makes sure to highlight the most important part of each sarga. Although this great work was written more than a century ago, there is littleawareness about the work beyond a small scholarly circle. We have helped the effort of republishing Praṇāmarāmāyaṇam recently.
We would have heard of Nārāyaṇīyam which is a condensation of Bhāgavatam, this work is a similar one for Rāmāyaṇam.
