Transforming Identity, Diversity, and Equity in STEM

Welcome to TIDES

The TIDES Research and Mentoring Collaborative was founded in 2020 under the joint collaboration between Dr. Eliza Gallagher and Dr. Matthew Voigt whose research and mentoring aims center issues of identity, diversity, equity, and broadening participation in STEM fields.

CORE VALUES

We acknowledge that our society carries historical and divisive biases based on race, ethnicity, sex, gender identity, age, disability, sexual orientation, religion, and political beliefs. For information on how we address this in our work together, click here.

EMERGING SCHOLARS

The TIDES collaborative currently includes seven PhD students. Six are in the Department of Engineering and Science Education in the College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Science. One is in the Learning Sciences program in the College of Education.

COMMUNITY

TIDES is housed in the Department of Engineering and Science Education at Clemson University, where we are part of a community of education researchers spanning the full spectrum of STEM disciplines.
