Who we are
Tiddley Cove Morris Dancers & Musicians is a diverse and welcoming Morris side. Established in 1986, we are based in Vancouver, BC, Canada (not the semi-fictional West Vancouver Tiddley Cove, but the name was too much fun to pass up!)
Morris dancing is an ancient English tradition, reinterpreted with a contemporary West Coast twist. We play music, dance and sing, do mummers' plays and wassail apple trees, performing in public and also just for ourselves. Today, Morris is performed all over the world: energetic dance and music celebrating the seasons and local food growing. This tradition is part of a worldwide family of ritual ceremonial dances sharing the common features of colour, vitality, disguise, patterned choreography and processions.
Tiddley Cove Morris welcomes new members. You certainly don’t have to be English (most of us aren't!), just enthusiastic, energetic and willing to have fun with a great community.
