Dissertation: Differential Object Marking with AcI constructions and perception verbs in Spanish
First supervisor: Prof. Dr. Marco García García
Second supervisor: Prof. Dr. Klaus von Heusinger
Overview: My PhD project investigates whether DOM in Spanish is also influenced by agentivity. To verify it, I analyze the behavior of DOM with perception verbs, focusing on visual and auditory perception modalities. Additionally, I compare the occurrence of DOM in AcI constructions and mono-predicative constructions. I take both a diachronic and a synchronic perspective. Hence, I analyze the impact of agentivity on the diachronic evolution of DOM as well as its expansion to other categories, such as inanimate entities.
