Teaching

When teaching, I aim to connect the power and beauty of mathematical thinking with real-world problems.

Undergraduate teaching

I have taught undergraduates in a wide variety of formats, including lecturing modules for over 500 students, class teaching for 10-30 students, and taking tutorials for groups of 1-4 students. Subjects I have taught include courses on Calculus, Analysis, Applied Mathematics, and Scientific Computing.

I seek to inspire students by linking the modules I teach with my own research and by highlighting the connections both with modules they have taken previously and those they may choose to take in the future.

Research supervision

In addition to lecturing, I have supervised a number of research projects at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, including co-supervision of several PhD students. I am a core staff member of the interdisciplinary HetSys Doctoral Training Centre at Warwick. For more detail about some of the themes for various projects I have supervised, see my research pages.

I am happy to discuss ideas for possible projects with students at various levels. If you are a student who may be interested in such opportunities, please feel free to contact me via email with information about your background and interests.
