Qualify for the Canadian Ultimate Championships in Brampton, ON in August and compete against the top women's masters teams in Canada.
Provide a friendly but high-intensity environment for women to build their ultimate skills and knowledge of the game.
Establish stronger ties with Flurry and Fallout to build a stronger women's ultimate community in Edmonton.
Due to COVID-19, both tryouts at Foote Field have been cancelled. We are reassessing our season plans and will send an update out soon!
Can't wait to see all of your lovely faces irl!
If you are interested in trying out for the team or attending practices, please fill out our Expression of Interest form!
Outdoor practices will run from May 6 to Aug 19, once per week on Wednesday evenings (7:00-9:00 pm). Practice is always subject to COVID, weather and field conditions.
We will work on improving our skills and understanding of strategies
Fitness will be part of practice but not the focus. Players are expected to work on their fitness on their own time to ensure they are able to compete at an appropriate level.
Practices will be open to female-identifying players of all ages!
We'll be working with Flurry to enable inter-squad scrimmages throughout the summer
*Note: Life is busy and we understand that it will be difficult to attend 100% of practices, but please respect your teammates who are all taking the time to be there and make attending practices and arriving on time a priority.
Optionally, Throwback is invited to Flurry's Monday evening practices (7:00-9:00 pm).
These practices will focus more on individual skill development
Our goal for this year is to make participation as accessible as possible and allow more flexibility for people to play other tournaments and do other things with their summer aside from ultimate!

Money can be saved by rooming / carpooling with more people.
*CUC qualification
Typically, Alberta is allocated one bid for CUCs in the women’s masters division.
Things that may affect the number of eligible teams:
Unused bids from other regions
An application to expand the division if there is sufficient interest and field availability
The provinces that get the additional bids is based on the number of registered players in that division in the region
We will be informed on the number of bids Alberta women’s masters division will have after June 15.
If there is more than one Alberta women's masters team, a regionals game(s) against the other team(s) is required to determine who attends CUC and/or allow for seeding
Once the roster is announced those selected will be asked to pay $100 non-refundable team fee. This will go towards covering team season expenses. This includes things like
Field space
Team equipment
Coaching honorariums
Spirit prizes
Winter City Warmup registration
Additional costs include
Tournament fees and travel expenses (see Tournaments above, ~$1500-2000)
Jersey set (~$120)
