Research and Education
Three Points Planning provides a variety of research and education services to clients. Our clients include energy efficiency, sustainability and building organizations around the Southeast. We provide professional education, original research and technical assistance to support their organizations and programs.
Existing Home Assessment
Existing home performance assessments are intended to help identify performance issues in older and historic existing homes. The assessment process includes four steps. First, a review of the existing home conditions is conducted. This process is intended to identify issues or trouble spots noted by the homeowner and assess the cost of home utilities. Second a site visit is conducted. The site visit is intended to identify features which impact the homes performance, comfort and durability and investigate issues identified. Third, a summary report is prepared. The summary report identifies the findings and provides a list of recommendations for the home. Lastly a one-hour conference call may be conducted to discuss the assessment and any questions generated by the summary report.
New Home Design Review
The new home design review service consists of three services. First, a review of the new home plans is conducted. This is intended to evaluate features which will impact the homes performance, comfort and durability and identify potential issues or trouble spots. Second, a summary report is prepared. This report provides a list of recommendations for the home and is sent to the client after the design review is complete. Third, a one-hour conference call is conducted. This allows the opportunity to discuss the report and any questions generated by the summary.
