Students getting their bearings (compass headings) at the Bernard Field Station, just north of campus. This is where we collect a lot of the data that we model.
Dr. T. teaches many kinds of classes in environmental science, ecology, statistics, and programming, at the Department of Natural Sciences (formerly Keck Science).
Every year she teaches Applied Ecology and Conservation (Biol 138, cross listed with Environmental Analysis). This class has an optional lab (138L) that focuses on learning how to use modeling, computer programming, and data analysis for tackling problems in applied ecology/conservation biology.
Most years during fall semester, she teaches a section of Biol 175, Introduction to Biostatistics.
In spring and/or fall semester, she teaches a 1/4 credit class called Introduction to R in the Sciences (Biol 119). This class is to help students get a head start on skills they may need in an upper division science class that uses R coding.
In Fall of 2026, she will offer a section of Pitzer First Year Seminar on biodiversity in southern California
