Welcome to the Thomson lab
Pitzer and Scripps Colleges
Pitzer and Scripps Colleges
We are conservation scientists who apply tools from population and community ecology, statistics, and modeling to environmental problems ranging from non-native species introductions to climate change. Our lab studies many different kinds of organisms, but especially plants and bees.
If you are a student at the Claremont Colleges and would like to learn more about research opportunities, please email Diane Thomson (also known as Dr. T.), dthomson@scrippscollege.edu. You do not need previous experience to work in my lab, although the type of projects available may differ depending on which courses you have taken already. UDPATE: Dr. T. is on sabbatical through summer of 2026, but will be offering paid positions and thesis opportunities in the 2026 to 2027 academic year.Â
Check out the Research tab for some examples of ongoing projects, and email Dr. T. with any questions.
