Sub Work 9/24

Hi class! I'm sorry that I can't be at school today, I have hurt my knee, so I'm resting it today and will hopefully be back tomorrow. Please be on your best behavior while I am out. I know that you can be respectful and listen to the substitute, so that is what I am expecting.

Please read and follow the directions below carefully to complete your assignments for today. If you have questions about homework, I promise I will answer them when I return to school.

Assignment 1: Go to Discovery Education. (Remember it is the icon on your XIA links that has the D with the earth.) Open up Math Techbook, and go to Unit 2.2 (Use Rational Numbers). Next, complete the ENGAGE activities and interactive game, Maze Game. Play the game for about 8 minutes. Then, move on to the questions below. ON YOUR OWN PAPER, write down the ESSENTIAL QUESTION, and the definitions for the words COMPLEX FRACTION and RATIONAL NUMBER. You can find the definition by clicking those words on the Engage page.

Assignment 2: Click on the INVESTIGATE tab at the top of the page, and choose INVESTIGATION 1. Then, answer all of the questions that are below the game. Make sure to click on each tab when answering the questions.

Assignment 3: Go to your Discovery Education HOMEPAGE (where you end up when you first click on the icon). At the top, you should see assignments. I have assigned "Check for Understanding: Use Rational Numbers - Investigation 1." Open up this document to view your questions. You will answer the questions on your own paper, but you DO NOT need to write the questions. Turn this paper into the homework bin for your class.

If you do not complete all assignments, that is okay, we will discuss when I return. If you DO finish all assignments, you may work on my Khan Academy assignments (homework) or you may work on your capstone project. Mrs. Cahall has our class headphones if you need to borrow some for your Khan Academy assignments.
