I am a lecturer (UK-equivalent of assistant professor) at the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences of the University of Exeter. My research is at the frontier of climate science and physical volcanology, and aims to help societies face climate change and natural hazards. I particularly enjoy investigating how volcanic eruptions and climate interact with eachother, which is an ever more relevant question in the context of global climate change. I mostly use numerical modelling, laboratory experiments and analysis of field data to answer my research questions.

Last, like volcanoes, orcas and whales are all blowing although the resulting plumes have different composition and associated risks... you will find samples of all of the latter on my pictures page, along with photographs of other beautiful places I have had the chance to visit.
