Katie was able to simplify the overwhelming and complicated college search process into something manageable. I am very happy with the schools I got into and I don't know if I would have been able to do it without her expertise and pragmatic approach. 2020 graduate attending Macalester College after a gap year
Although the college process is stressful in the best of circumstances, Ms. Thomas was instrumental in making it as stress-free and understandable as possible. Not only did she go above and beyond in helping edit countless supplemental essays and provide helpful contacts at each school I was looking it, but she also helped navigate building a solid list of schools to apply to, and navigate various other obstacles such as art portfolios and gathering recommendations. Ms. Thomas’ help didn’t stop when the applications were submitted, however. She made sure I had someone to talk to when struggling to pick a school, and I am confident that with her help I made the best choice possible for me. To top it all off, no matter how stressed I was, Ms. Thomas was incredibly patient and kind and willing to sit with me and break things down step by step so it didn’t seem at all insurmountable.

Both my husband and I work, and have three very active kids. The college process seemed daunting and time consuming to take on. Thanks to Katie we launched our first off to Vassar and our second child off to Colorado State University. What seemed at times overwhelming and was tense with conversations about college applications and deadlines, was replaced with productive updates and better discussions about pros and cons. Our third will be a junior, and knowing the support and guidance she too will receive takes so much stress off of us as a family. We highly recommend Katie! Katie was and is extremely responsive, caring and thorough. She navigated difficult different objectives and goals related to college admission with patience and kindness but always transparency between myself and my daughter. Her extraordinary efforts provided Jenny and I varied and positive options despite a really difficult admission year. Her efforts did not end there! She continued to provide great support and insight through the college visits after all the admission decisions ultimately assisting in Jenny's final decision. Parent of 2020 graduate attending U. Southern California
We have known Katie for 7 years and both our kids had her for their college counselor. We cannot say enough positive things about her! She is very knowledgeable and experienced in the whole stressful process and truly is gifted in listening for what each kid is looking for, what parents are wanting, and merging the two with grace and candor!!! A true gem in the field!! Parents of 2017 graduate who attended Colgate and 2020 graduate attending Bowdoin after a post-graduate year
Our daughter had strong grades and test scores, but we knew this wasn’t enough. Katie gave us the nationwide perspective, 20+ years experience with elite schools’ admissions process, and constant coaching and encouragement to get into our daughter’s top school choices. I wish we would have started using Katie earlier in the process. Parent of 2020 graduate attending Ole Miss
Katie -- Thank you so much for your guidance. We loved working with you and will miss you greatly. I still pinch myself that he got into UVA -- with financial support! You are amazing with the kids, and I feel fortunate to have had our paths cross with such a wonderful outcome.
Parent of 2022 graduate attending UVAThe college application process can be so stressful. Katie’s straightforward approach and calming presence made a world of difference. I can’t imagine trying to navigate it on our own. Her advice and expertise were invaluable. Parent of 2021 graduate attending Macalester College
Our son focused his intentions on a BFA in acting & theatre. We were unsure that a prep school education had prepared him for what was to come. Katie presented a pragmatic view of where you can go with talent, grades, and activities, keeping us sensible & asking that we let him reach for the stars. He auditioned & waded through the two-step process of applying to conservatory programs. He got into his dream school, NYU-Tisch Drama. He had set his mind on another school already, but Katie urged him to visit NYU to be certain of no regrets; he chose NYU after the visit. We would not trade Katie's combination of care & expertise for anything. THANK YOU, KATIE! Parents of 2018 student attending NYU-Tisch
