Career

This page provides a brief summary of my academic development.

Current affiliation

In May 2016, I have started as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Melbourne. In January 2017 I have been appointed as a Distinguished Research Fellow of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Mathematical and Statistical Frontiers.

Junior Research Group

Before coming to Melbourne I headed a Junior Research Group in Mathematical Physics at the University of Cologne (2010-2016), funded by Prof. Zirnbauer's Leibniz Award. In January 2013, I finished my Habilitation and received the degree "Privat-Dozent".

Postdoctoral phase

  • University of Amsterdam (2006-2010), partially funded by a Marie-Curie Intra-European Fellowship

  • King's College London (2003-2006), funded by a PPARC Fellowship

Doctoral phase

Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics (1999-2003), mostly funded by the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes. My PhD was awarded by the Humboldt University Berlin.

Study

Freie Universität Berlin: Studies in Physics and Mathematics (1995-1999), partially supported by the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes.
