Some of our summer 2023 successes have been:

Propagating variegated perennial kale

Seeing the succession in the outer field - with thistles being usurped by the next round of nature

Leaving a wild patch in an area with the veg beds and seeing poppies and vetch growing happily

So many bees enjoying the flowers, and hoverflies and ladybirds moving in

Spying some tomatoes which have self-seeded from last year

Comfrey taking over a corner near the peach tree which has two peaches on it!

In our first year, we did lots. We managed to, amongst other things:

Put up a polytunnel

Creat lots of raised beds

Plant a wood

Invest in a table and canopy for lovely communal meals

Learn how to scythe

Harvest lots of plums, tomatoes, potatoes, cucumbers, spinach, beetroot, lettuces and squash

Grow some flowers

Work out that rabbits like eating lots of things

Make (well, started to make) lots of lovely compost

Experiment with off grid fridges and solar ovens

Enjoy the fresh air and have fun
