The main focus of science in the third grade level is world interactions. Students will further their learning of matter and forces by studying simple machines, examining interactions when materials are introduced to water, and dive into how living beings (plants, humans, animals) are constantly interacting with both other living and nonliving features in the environment.
Goals this year will center around adaptations, and developing scientific skills that are supported by mathematics/computational thinking.
Students will also strengthen their ability to predict outcomes, ask sophisticated questions, plan and conduct experiments/investigations, collect and analyze their data, make explanations, and communicate the information they find while exploring the natural world.
