Practical Life
Practical Life activities help children develop real-life skills that support independence. These include everyday tasks such as buttoning, pouring, and spooning. Through this work, children build coordination, concentration, and confidence. They also develop a sense of order by following clear, purposeful steps—laying the foundation for learning across all areas.
Sensorial
During the first six years, children develop and refine their five senses—sight, touch, hearing, smell, and taste. Through activities such as matching, grading, and comparing, they build a foundation for clear thinking, language development, and future skills in reading, writing, and math.
Language
Young children absorb language naturally during their sensitive period for language. In a rich and supportive environment, they develop these skills with ease. The Montessori language program supports this growth through vocabulary building, learning letter sounds, writing (including word building and invented spelling), early reading, reading comprehension, and creative writing.
Math
Young children learn math best through hands-on experiences—by doing, not just by being told. They build number concepts using concrete materials and gradually move toward abstract thinking.
In the Montessori approach, children explore math at their own pace through activities such as pre-numeration, numbers 1–10, the decimal system with Golden Beads, linear counting beyond ten, and the four operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Cultural
Montessori Cultural Studies integrates geography, science, history, and art to help children understand the world and its diversity in a meaningful way. Through “cosmic education,” children begin to see their place in the universe as part of a larger interconnected whole.
Reading, Art, and Writing
On Fridays, children enjoy a special program that combines reading, art, and writing. They explore engaging stories, share their favorite parts, and bring the stories to life through creative art projects.
Children then draw and write (using invented spelling) about the story or their creation, expressing their own ideas in a meaningful way. They finish by proudly sharing their work with their friends.
Fun Friday is a joyful time where imagination, creativity, and confidence grow.
Social & Emotional Learning (SEL)
Our Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) program helps children recognize emotions, understand their feelings, and learn how to manage conflicts in a healthy way.
Through books like Emotions Aquarium and stories based on real-life situations, children explore how emotions appear in everyday experiences. They also express their thoughts and feelings through art and writing by creating story characters and reflecting on them.
The goal of this program is to help children build self-control, empathy, and the ability to solve conflicts independently.
