Lightweight S2000 Build
Lightweight S2000 Build
The Honda S2000 is celebrated for its drivetrain, yet its weight has been a point of contention. This build thread envisions a Honda S2000 Type R, focusing on lightness and response, inspired by the philosophies of Shigeru Uehara and the legendary NSX-R.
The NSX-R achieved a weight reduction of approximately 10% compared to the standard NSX, setting a benchmark for lightweight engineering. Following this philosophy, this build reduces the S2000's weight by 7%, achieving a wet weight of ~1,160 kg. More weight can be saved beyond this, however we enter the realm of dimimishing returns.

Square Setup: Running 16x7.5 wheels with identical tire sizes on all four corners enhances handling balance and allows for easier tire rotation. As tire technology has gotten better, running a slighly stretched setup will help the overall tire grip to torque level.
Exterior/Interior: White with red accents, echoing Type R aesthetics
Chassis: AP2 model with stock F22C engine
Suspension: Honda CR components with refreshed bushings
Drivetrain: 5% shorter final drive for improved acceleration
Aero: Functional rear diffuser
