“Ren, run away!”
The little boy could only watch, with horrified eyes, at his dad who just muttered that sentence. His mouth is opened, but no words could come out, his foot tried to move, but it was frozen in place
His mother's corpse lied on the floor, while his father stood beside her, his sword poised in an attempt to guard them from the hidden enemy
From the shadow, a pair of mismatched pink-brown eyes stare at him in amusement, seemingly taking pleasure from his fear. The demon took a step forward, only to be blocked by An Ren who raised his sword
"Stop, leave my son alone or I'll-"
The air in front of him split apart
There was a wet 'splat' sound, and his father's head flew from his body. It hit the wall, dropped to the ground with a dull 'thud', before rolling back and stopping at the boy's feet facing up. It stared up at him with a horrid expression etched on it's face, like a frozen scream of pain
Drip. Drip. Drip.
Blood dribbled to the ground. His eyes trailed up to the source of it, only to see an umbrella being closed through the moonlight
Ren began shaking
Little by little, his instinct began to take hold of him, as the little boy turn around and ran. Ran for his dear life. Ran from the fear rushing through his veins. But most importantly, ran from the demon, who he could felt still grinning at him from the shadow

Up until this point, we have all known (Y/n) as the perfect Isekai protagonist. He's cautious, have an OP ability, came from another world after being hit by a speeding vehicle, and gets reincarnated and is granted with the Gamer ability, then just happens to meet the main character from the start
One would think he is blessed with perfection just by reading his bio. A typical Gary Stu you would often meet in usual insert fiction stereotype
However, there's a secret about (Y/n) that not many people know. A secret that not even he know he has
A secret that, for obvious reason, will be kept a secret until the end of this story
....
'Well. Shit'
"I'm lost" I sweatdropped, looking at the map in my hand. No matter how I turn it: Upside down, left side right, or vice versa, I still can't seem to be able to pinpoint my location
I swear, these roads are moving on their own every time I turn my head!
Or maybe these maps are cursed! When the hell is North supposed to be to the left!
....
His sense of direction is....to put it lightly...on another level compare to normal human beings
…..
"I see, so if you turn right at this corner, you'll eventually get there" I nodded as I walked to the left
"No wait, the right!" I turned around "But, which right should I take?"
"Maybe it's the right along this path?" I turned a 180 degree "Oh yeah, it's definitely the right one. I could feel it!"
I mentally applauded myself as I walked to the left again
"......"
".....Wait"
This is going to take a while

Back at the Xiao Long dojo, shit is still tense between the family and their eldest daughter Yang
"Hello, Yang. I could see that you've grown quite a lot" Summer smiled, though there's a hint of caution in her eyes "How have your...training with Raven been?"
"Oh it went pretty well, mother. A lot better than what I used to learn at this Dojo"
Tai looked down at that
"Sister!" Ruby cried "You're being rude to Dad!"
"But you know it's true" The blonde girl continued smiling "After all, none of his old students can beat me"
Yes, that is the real reason why Taiyang's dojo is such an empty place. It's not because his Dragon Breath is a failure, nor is it because of his ability as a teacher.
It's because of his daughter
As a child, she would constantly challenge all his senior students and get into fights with them. At first, they would just laugh at the little child and ignore her, believing it to be unfair to fight with a girl several years younger than them
That initial reaction was quickly dispelled when Yang took down three of them with effortless ease. With only her bare hand, the blonde scored full points against her opponents before they could even register it
That day, something in Yang Xiao Long changed
The girl began challenging every one of his student to a match. All of them, after losing against his daughter, completely have their spirit crushed. Their dignity as a fighter and as a man made them quit the dojo in shame. Some of which never practice martial arts again
"If they can't even defeat me, then they're not even worthy of practicing martial art in the first place"
That's what she said
"No, that's not true" Ruby denied, shaking her head "(Y/n) could beat you if he wanted"
"(Y/n)?" Yang tilted her head "Who's he?"
"One of your father's new disciple. He showed a significant amount of potential larger than any of Tai's previous students" Summer said, calmly sipping on her tea "Perhaps more than you as well"
Yang’s eyes twitched
"Really now? Then where is he right now?" She said as she cracked her knuckle "Fighting someone like him would be entertaining enough"
"He's currently on a journey to the Valley of the Deep" Her step-mother replied "But, as a substitute, why don't you have a spar with your sister instead?"
"Huh?" Yang let out a dumbfounded sound, while Ruby paled "Don't kid me, mother. That shorty will get trampled in seconds if she were to face off against me"
"I won't be so sure about that" Summer replied, a smile forming on her face "After all, (Y/n)'s been teaching you hasn't he, Ruby?"
Ruby blushed 'How did she know?'
That has been a secret only shared between both of them and no one else. While it's true that the boy's been training her, she wasn't sure she could beat her sister with just that
After the incident in the forest where she almost got killed, (Y/n)'d suggested Ruby to start on training in order to get some experience in combat, so she can take care of herself when he's not around
Seeing that her physical prowess is not developed enough to start on martial arts, he instructed her to practice using a weapon in combat instead, preferably one with long range like a wooden sword or a scythe
And that's exactly the problem
"I-I only know how to fight with a weapon" She stuttered, clearly nervous "If I were to fight against Yang while unarmed, she would totally trump me"
That is the truth. Taijutsu is (Y/n)'s specialty, not hers
"I don't think Yang would mind such a small inconvenience, she is practically older and more experienced than you, after all"
The girl nodded, still slightly unsettled as she stared at her sister, who is also looking at her with an unreadable expression on her face
“And why should I fight her? She’s my sister”
"You have a point, how about this then?" Summer brought up a frail finger "If you win, we'll let you go train under Raven to improve yourself, without any condition on our part. You'll also received all of your father's training scrolls and personal technique passed down from his family's previous generations, his included"
"What's the catch?"
"However, if Ruby win. You will have to stay here with her until I passed away"
Her eyes widened for a fraction of a second, before it returned to normal. Her sister's mouth curled up into a smile
"Alright then, I accept"
5 minutes later, and they are standing across each other in the training room. Ruby stood there with her bokken poised forward from her mid-section, while Yang prepared a fighting stance with her two fists raised up, her leg swept back, as if preparing for a dash
Summer stood in the back ground as she explained the rules to both of them "As you already know. No hitting in vulnerable spot. No uses of Kekkei-Genkei. No trash-talking. Once start, whoever landed 3 hits on their opponents first wins"
"Is that clear?"
"Yeah, clear"
"Wait, I have a questio-" Ruby opened her mouth, but was interrupted by her mother
"BEGIN"
Yang stomped the floor behind her and propelled herself forward, crossing the distance between them in under a blink. She started with an uppercut, swinging at Ruby with a force enough to knock a normal person unconscious
Ruby's eyes narrowed, the world around her seems to go into slow-motion as her battle mode kicked in. She could feel herself become distinctly aware of her heartbeat, the blood flowing through her veins, and the sound of her muscle tensing up in response
In front of her, the image of Yang is temporarily replaced by (Y/n) rushing at her. Compare to him, her sister was moving at a significantly slower speed, and the power of her strike is weaker as well
Was Yang intentionally doing it to gauge her strength, or was she just that confident in her ability as a fighter?
No matter, it's better not to let this chance for a free hit pass
She brought one of her foot down and got into a kneeling position, dodging Yang's attack as it sailed pass her head harmlessly. Her sister twisted her arm mid-air and quickly brought her elbow down on Ruby's head
Instead of dodging it like she thought, Ruby kicked the ground and darted forward, her wooden sword trailing gracefully behind her as she deflected the strike, effectively leaving her open
CLACK
Before Yang could recover, a second strike hit her straight in the chest, sending her skidding backward several meters. She doubled over at the strength behind that one attack, clutching her stomach in pain
"One hit" Tai said, seemingly amused "Two more"
Yang raised her arm, just in time to block Ruby's slash which is aiming at her neck, and grunted in pain
What the hell? How did her sister gets so strong in only a few months?
Just who is this (Y/n) that taught her? How terrifying is he if his student is already this skilled?
She roared, sending Ruby back with a spartan-kick. The little girl blocked it and flipped back elegantly, but soon launching herself back up at Yang as soon as her feet touched the floor, soon enough she was upon Yang
CLACK CLACK CLACK
Yang barely managed to deflect the first two, but the last one caught her across the neck as Ruby reverse her strike mid-swing. She grabbed the wooden sword and smashed it at the ground, intending to bring her sister along with it
"Two hits from Ruby" Summer said, sipping her tea
Her husband looked at the woman, wondering why the hell can she see what's going on when she's blind like that
Ruby let go of her sword at the last second, albeit a second too late as the wind was knocked out of her. She looked up, only for Yang to kick her in the stomach
"One hit from Yang"
She followed up by grabbing her sister by the shirt and threw her to a nearby wall. Without her weapon, Ruby is basically defenseless as a rag doll. Before she can get up, a foot slammed her in the throat
"Two hits from Yang"
Ruby choked, tears gathered at the edge of her eyes at the pain she's feeling at this moment. Inwardly, she wondered if she can even survive another hit from Yang. She has to think of a strategy fast
The girl slowly stood up. Her wooden sword is scattered on the other side of the room, with Yang blocking the way in the middle. She has to got a hold of it to even thinking of winning this fight
'What will (Y/n) do?' The little Rose asked herself, frantically searching for his past lessons with her 'I know! He did mention about the Concentrated Breath or something like that! By breathing in a certain way, one can increase their physical strength several times fold'
She steadied herself and wiped her mouth, before inhaling deeply. Her breathing slowly stabilized as she did so, but still nothing happened
'Ugh, come on Ruby. You can do this' She screamed at herself, breathing in as much as air as she could, bringing her lungs closer and closer to it's limit by the seconds. Even as her chest felt like it's burning, she didn't stop
This is her one and only chance. If Ruby didn't succeed, she won't make Yang return to them.
Closing her eyes, the girl sucked in the last breath, effectively filling her lungs full with oxygen. Her veins popped in response to the increased pressure in her system
And then it happened. Something changed in her body
Ruby's vision...cleared. She can suddenly feel everything. Her feet felt light as feathers. Her muscle felt stronger. And she....felt somewhat different, as if every organs in her body has been enhanced by the blood rushing through it
She exhaled, and inhaled
It's like a sudden calmness had overtook her mind. Ruby's focus became inhumanely sharp, up to the point that she could sense the air shifting around her as Yang closed in for another attack
She dashed to the side and avoided the low hook by inches, bringing her hand up to block her sister's second strike by moving it by inches to her left. Yang continued her assault by going for an axe-kick, but her sister smacked it off with a sideway swing, making her lose her balancing
'She's even faster than before?' Yang's eyes widened 'How is this possible?'
The blonde twisted body to regain her balance mid-air, before getting into a sweep kick that Ruby easily avoided with her new speed. She rolled back and snatched up her sword from the floor
Ruby grasped the bokken in her hands before pointing it in her sister' direction. Her eyes narrowed in focus as she raised the weapon above her head, ready to deliver the final strike
'Tch, don't think you won just yet'
Yang, in return, propelled herself toward the little girl with her fist hurtling at inhumane speed. She knows that as long as she can score the last hit, even Ruby's speed wouldn't be able to save her
They are both putting their all into this one strike, the strike that decided their victory over the other
CLACK
CRACK
It was over in a flash

*sigh*
"I really am lost, aren't I?"
I looked dully at the sign in front of me, which reads "Kuroyuri Village. 5km ahead"
According to the map, I was supposed to pass the Schnee Compound first before getting here. Yet, somehow, despite all odds, I have skipped the destination without even knowing it.
It's just another proof to show that you shouldn't trust those maps on your hand, they'll lie to you the moment you turn your back on them. Let this be a lesson learned to me
But oh well, it's not like skipping past the Schnee compound will caused me any inconvenience in the future, right?
It was then that a rustling sound from nearby caught my attention. I turned around to see someone stumbling out of the bush in front of me
It was a boy my age. His clothes was ragged, and his skin have many bruises and cuts on them. Idly, I could notice the streak of pink on his dark black hair, along with his magenta eyes underneath those bangs of his
He looks kinda like Lie Ren from RWBY actually, but maybe that's just my imagination being at work here
The boy's eyes widened as he noticed me. In a flash, he ran up to me and tightly grasped my shoulder with his trembling hand, his eyes contained a primal fear in them, the kind of fear you would often see in someone who just woke up from a one-night-stand with Death sleeping beside them
"Run, run, run" The Ren-look-alike repeatedly said "Or she's going to catch up to you, the night is almost upon us, the Demon with the Umbrella!"
“...what?”
"Blood. So many blood. Must not look behind" He staggered on his feet
And then he collapsed in my arms after those jumbled sentences, probably from exhaustion from running too much if his ragged breath is any indication
I scratched my head, holding the unconscious boy with my other arm. Suffice to say, I'm confused as hell as to what he just said
Here I am, minding my own business, and this boy just pretty much appeared behind me and start stuttering out incomprehensible sentences in his frenzy, and then he fainted beside me, who clearly have no idea who he is and where he came from
What should I do now?

Author's Note: Oh yeah, it has begun, let the bullshit runs wild baby!
In other words, I am deeply moved by your previous comments on last chapter. While I know this story wouldn't even be as popular as my Grimm one, seeing that not many people like Gamer+AU fanfics, I would still work hard to satisfy the small amount of you guys that enjoys this story of mine
As you awesome people have given this thing a chance, I promised this you won't be disappointed in the future!
See ya
