12:00/ Atlas Huntsmen Headquarter/ Dr.Evil's Extremely Evil Lab
It had been midnight now. Amidst the usual silence of the laboratory, the sound of the doctor's mutterings can be easily heard, coupled with a tint of excitement in his voice
"Yes...Yes" The doctor grinned as he studied the object in his hand "This power, it's exactly what I'm looking for. With this, I'll finally be able to become a real king!"
He flipped the thing, revealing it to be an old tome with leather cover and dusty, yellowed out pages, a proof of it's ancient existence. Or in this case, a proof of it's credibility as a source of valuable information for him
His friend, his naive and trusty friend, Doctor Oobleck, who had a Phd in History and Archeologist, has belived his claim of wanting to study it for humanity's good and gave him this. As if it hasn't been stupid enough, that green-haired fool also sent him a translation of the thing, making his job several times easier than before. Really, Evil should thank him for that
Quietly chuckling to himself, the doctor set his eyes upon one paticular page in the book. It was the one thing that he truly wanted to achieve, the one thing that he had always desired. The ultimate form of power...
Emperor's Aura
It has always been a favorable theory among the Kingdom's scientist that each person's Aura carry a distinctive feature of it's own, and that a person's Aura define their Semblance, their intelligence, and, quite possibly, their personality, since they're essentially the manifestation of one's soul, and as such must carry the traits of one's soul
Several researches has been conducted to test this hypothesis of theirs, but none of them succeeded. Regardless of the results however, many of them still think it was likely to exist, just like how everyone think about the existence of dark matter even though they can't prove it
He himself is a firm believer of that. A person's strength and capabilities wasn't determined by how hard they train, it was determined by the essence of their Aura. The stronger, purer, and denser one's Aura is, the more exponential their growth will be in certain aspects compared to others. And that's the reason why he's started experimenting with Aura lately when he first became a scientist, so that he could become stronger and rule the world by strength
Oh, those were the days...
Years and years and years of researching has found that each type of Aura has their own pros and cons. One type of Aura might be weaker than the other, but they can be used to counter another type that overwhelmed the second, which is neutral toward a fourth type that can cancelled both of them out. In short, they operates like a game of Janken, but with over a hundred different combination and possibilities, so that the chances of accurately predicting one's chances of victory were extremely low
That is, until they found out about the existence of Emperor's Aura
If matching up Aura against each other is a card game, then it would be the ultimate trump card, the supreme ace, the table-turning piece, or the endgame for all
Such is it's terrifying power that it was named that way. The Aura that ruled over other Auras. The Aura of a King, a conqueror, an emperor. Absolute in every way
An Aura that can negate, absorb, synchronize and is compatible with every other Aura. If anyone were to possess such power, they would be able to turn other's Aura into their own, either through literal consumption of blood or flesh. It is an ability fitting of an apex predator...
The ability to gain the traits of others through killing them
And the best part about it? It isn't even the Aura's main ability! No, while the aforementioned passive power does sounds extremely useful, it's when the user unlocked their Aura that they can truly show potential
By being compatible with every other Aura and possess the power to control them, Emperor users could, theoratically, control other person's Aura. It doesn't have to be mind manipulation, but rather the passive effect that formed when the Aura is released from their bodies which encompasses the Aura of those surrounding them
The results are difficult to predict, but most of the time it would include mental submission on other's part. Any feeling of fear, respect, admiration or love will be amplified several times if someone were to be in close proximity with the user. Over time, the effect will become permanent even when the user themselves weren't there
It was the ability to manipulate other's emotion toward them, to instill loyalty into others, hence it's name
And that's exactly the reason why he'd decided to make further advances toward this particular subject. Dr.Evil believed that if he can find a way to harness that power, he could make others support his goal, thus making his research even easier. With the power of the Grimm at his side, and the loyalty of the people under him. He will become a God!
"MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA" Evil let out a, well...evil laugh and raised his hands up in, well...an evil manner as he finished his....Well, 'evil' internal monologue
After all, it is courtesies of a typical villain to laugh like that as he went over his scheme in a dramatic manner, or he would just be a pretentious edgelord otherwise
Knock Knock
He would have continued doing so, have it not been for a sudden knock at the door that interrupted Evil of his evil laughing
Heaving an annoyed sigh as he put his hands down, the doctor signalled for two of his soldiers nearby to answer them. It's probably another test subject that they brought for him
"Who's there!?" One of them approached the door and called out, his loud voice echoed in the lab's silent atmosphere
Their only reply is a faint voice over the other side
"Boom..."
The two soldiers looked at each other with confused faces, before one of them shrugged and turned toward the door
"Boom who!?"
"....I'm glad you asked"
BOOM!
The thick metal door was blown off it's hinges, hitting one of the soldier before crashing into a nearby wall, effectively squashing the poor guy to death
The doctor and the other soldier blinked in surprise
The explosion immediately woke the Grimm hybrids in the room up. Most of them looked around in momentary confusion, before they finally concentrated concentrated on the newly-made hole in the wall, their eyes widened in shock
From the falling debris and lingering smoke of the aftershock, there slowly walked out a figure in black.
His form is as dark as the blackest of nights with no visible features, while two sinister crimson dot of lights peered out from under his hood, where his eyes were supposed to be. The echoes of the stranger's footsteps were the only audible sound in the shocked silence that followed his entrance
Somehow, all the Grimm children were entranced in the figure's presence, as if it's the most singularly enchanting thing in the universe. With curious eyes they followed the shadow's every movement, wanting to see what he would do next
Among them, a pair of eyes, one burning amber and the other, a blood red one, quietly observed the newcomer from a corner, it was Cinder who'd just woken up, and she's apparently interested in the presence of this stranger
The smokes finally cleared, revealing a grenade launcher in the figure's hand. This pulled the other soldier out of his shock as he started trembling uncontrollably
"H-hey, you there, those things are for emergencies only!" Were the only things that he managed to say through chattering teeth. That is to be expected, given that he'd just witnessed his friend's brutal death moments ago. It is likely that anyone would freak out under such circumstances
Although, freaking out like that won't solve anything, especially when you yelled at the guy who'd just killed your friend moments ago, unless you want yourself to be the object of his attention...
The figure stopped, before the two red dots underneath moved to his direction. A chill ran down the soldier's spine and he found himself completely unable to do anything, it was as if he could not control his body despite his mind screaming at them to do so
Slowly, ever so slowly, the figure's 'eyes' looked down to the grenade launcher in their hands, appearing to be deep in thought about something
"Hmmm..." It hummed
"...This counts as an emergency, I guess?"
"Wha-"
Clickety-clack
BOOM!
Before the remaining soldier could even give a proper reply, he was blown into smithereens by a grenade heading his way. His body parts flew in every direction, while a few spatter of blood were the only remains that indicated his presence there just moments ago
Tossing the smoking gun away, it looked straight at the desk where he was sitting
Now, with two of the people there gone, there's only one more, and that person is still sitting on their chair with a stunned look on their face
"Are you perhaps Dr.Evil?"
<><><><><><><><><>
I tilted my head at the sight of the trembling man before me
Bald head, narrow grey eyes, a normal lab coat...He doesn't look very evil, does he?
In fact, the man looks just like your normal, everyday, boring science professor, contradicting with the antagonistic image I had in mind when first hearing his name. My disappoinment were immeasurable and my day was ruined, just because of this shitty excuse of a villain
Oh well, it's my fault for setting my hopes too high I guess, better get this done as soon as possible so I can get out of this place
I raised my hands and flicked a nearby lever to turn on the light
"No wait, that's-" Dr.Evil shrieked as he attempted to get up, but it was already too late
Pshhhhhhhh
The sound of the airlocks outside the cages containing the children pushed open. There was a moment of stunned silence, before one by one, they walked outside with unbelieving looks on their eyes
"What have you done...WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!!!?" The man screamed in rage "DO YOU KNOW WHAT THOSE THINGS YOU'VE JUST RELEASED ARE?! HOW COULD YOU DO THAT!?"
Uh....
...If you don't want it to happen, why the hell would you place the switch at such a convenient spot in the first place?
Before I could voice my thought, the Grimm children regained their senses and walked forward in the doctor's direction, their expressions turned from shock, anger to rage in a span of a few seconds, during which the doctor also turned from rage, anger to shock as he saw them approaching
"Stop! Don't come any closer!" He pulled out a gun from his lab pocket, but one of them kicked it away from his hand
They swarmed him in a matter of seconds, until I could not see his figure anymore. I don't know exactly what the Grimm hybrids did to Dr.Evil, but there was a lot of screaming and blood being spattered on the wall, so it's probably not something pleasant
A tug from my sleeve pulled my attention away from the interesting scene that was taking place and made me looked down, only to come eye-to-eye with Cinder herself
There was a moment of silence between us, during which I thought about how this cute loli standing in front of me will one day sink the Arkos ship along with most of it's members on board and end up becoming the Fall maiden herself
Should I kill her here? Right now?
It would be easy to just reach out and snapped her neck, to rip her beating heart out of her chest, effectively ending her once and for all. Ultimately, without Cinder Fall, there will be no Fail of Beacon, no death of Amber, or death of that useless redhead whose name I just don't even bother to remember. Without Cinder Fall, things would be considerably better for all of us....
No
If one think about it in a calm and logical way, there's absolutely no reason for me to kill her at all
First off, I'm a Grimm, I'm the nemesis of humanity, which means Cinder will technically be allies with me if she joins Salem. She may cause destruction for the Huntsman, sure, but I'm not exactly a human, so why should I care about the lives of the people who I haven't even met? I couldn't give less of a shit about them being dead or not
Second, assuming Salem already have her eyes on this girl, I'll be in for some bad time if the queen of Grimm were to know I killed her potential subordinate. At best she might replace me as her spy, which will no doubt hold a lot of danger for me. At worst she'll probably skin me alive, feed that skin for other Grimms to eat, forced me to watch that, before locking me in a deep dungeon beneath her castle until I rot away in the darkness, or probably something even worse considering Lionheart's case, what's with the tentacles and all...
...Sometime my imaginative mind scares even me
"Yes?" Deciding not to think about it too much, I broke the silence between us, hoping to see what she wanted from me
"Who sent you here?" I raised my eyebrow beneath my hood at the question
"No one. I came here on my own accord"
"And why would you come here? To save us?"
She narrowed her eyes in suspicion, and tapped her foot in what I assumed as an attempt at intimidation.
Despite the atmosphere between us, I actually found this Cinder to be quite cute, probably because she was just a child and not an arrogant megalovaniac like her canon counterpart, which is still cute, but in a more evil way
"Save you?" I put a hand underneath my chin "Yeah, you could say that"
At this time I noticed that the other children had finished dealing with the Doctor, leaving behind a mutilated corpse, which I'll take a guess and say it's him. They surrounded me with guarded postures, albeit no hostilities were present in their eyes
"Who are you? No, more importantly, why would you want to save us?" Instead of Cinder, another Grimm girl spoke up among them. She has one of her eyes covered behind her brown hair, and a look of extreme caution in her eye when talking, like Chris Pratt from Jurassic World speaking with his beloved Velociraptors
Since I had no explanation to my identity, I just flipped off my hood and exposed my face to them, hoping that they wouldn't ask me more about it
A string of surprised gasps were their reaction toward my appearance. For some reason, the children started to look back and forth between me and Cinder, who had her eyes wide open in shock. Needless to say that wasn't the reaction I expected
I couldn't help but have that feeling again, the feeling of something happening and you have zero clue about it, just like with my old pack, the feeling that somehow, despite all odds, I fucked up again
Well, this is getting awkward for me, so let's just continue on
"You don't need to know the reason why I'm here. All you need to know is that I'll be the one to take you out of here and into freedom. Leave or not, the choice is yours" I stated simply and straight to the point. There's no use for beating around the bush with this one
There were whispering, chatters and noises among the Grimm hybrids as I mentioned the word "Freedom". It seems like I've hit the critical point of their desire
"So, what do you say?"
"We-" They stopped and looked at each other, before turning back to me with resolute looks in their eyes "Do we really have a choice in this?"
I shrugged
"Isn't that how freedom works? You guys always have a choice"
"Yeah, but what if we got killed? Wouldn't it be safer if we stay here?" Another one nervously spoke up in the back
What a pussy…
Before I could make a reply, the brown-haired girl from before spoke up angrily
"What the fuck are you guys talking about?" She yelled "It's our chance to take revenge on those who'd brought this all upon us, to break free of our shackles and live our life the way we want it to be, to leave our past behind and move toward a new, brighter future. Live free or die, guys! If we want freedom, don'tjust sit around bitching about unfairness and shits, earn it, either through blood, sweat or tear, because we will fight for it until our last breath. Are you with him or not!?!"
There was a change of attitude among the Grimm now, a fire burn fiercely in their eyes, born from concealed hatred and rage toward their opressors. Almost simultaneously they all genuflected before me, save for Cinder herself
As for the girl's part, there's this feeling of admiration and respect in her gaze toward me, one that reminded me of Alistair's and, to an extent, Helen's gaze, as they have that same expression when I tell them it's all a part of my plan
"To think that with only a few words, you managed to make them wholly devoted to you...Truly, such astounding charisma cannot be possess by a human after all" With that said, she, Cinder Fall herself, also genuflected before me
The "I just fucked up" feeling has just come back, and it's even stronger than before
I only wanted to use the Grimm hybrids as bait so I can sneak out of this place without being noticed. Why am I having hundreds of children bowing before me?
This isn't supposed to happen!!
Sighing, I forced out a smile at the genuflecting masses in front of me and cleared my voice
"It seems all of you have made your choice. Stand up then, I know a way to get out of this place"
"Before I tell you the plan, however, there's an armory across this lab, go there and take everything inside, and I mean everything; guns, grenades, dematerializers...then bring them back to me. I'm going to teach you kids how to shoot someone first"
Their faces light up at the prospect of using a weapon for the first time, and they rushed out of the room, temporarily leaving me alone in the laboratory with the scientist's corpse
Alright, it's looting time
Walking over to Dr. Evil's desk, I picked up a thick stash of paperwork. It has his name on it, so these must be the man's research over the years
"Let's see, 'A Study In Grimm'?"
It makes me wonder if I can learn whatever it was he is studying...Since I possess the body of a Grimm, those information could be highly valuable for me. It's just too bad that I don't have much time to sit here and consume all these knowledge it contains, or I would have surely-
Wait, 'consume'...
...This doesn't sound like a good idea, but It's worth a try I guess
Opening my mouth wide, I threw the entire stash into my mouth and swallowed them, before bending down to my knees as I gagged in disgust
Okay, I'd thought that I could eat anything and consume it's traits, apparently it doesn't mean everything I devoured would taste good, it just make them edible for me to digest the thing in my stomach
I'm just gonna consider this as a valuable lesson in the future
Ding!
You have learned [Grimm Anatomy (Expert)]: The more you know yourself, the more clarity there is. Your [Statistic] has been upgraded to show more details about you
Ding!
For gaining understanding of your body, you have unlocked [Magic (Corrupted)]: A source of power for the creatures of Grimm who have no Aura to protect themselves. Allow you to use [Spells], a lesser form of the ancient magic in Remnant. Leveling up will enable you to learn more spells and unlocked new varieties of magic
You have no available spells at the moment
....
Holy fucking shit, I didn't think that would work!
With the excitement of gaining new power, comes the desire to seek more of it. I searched the entire lab for anything that can make me learn new skills. In the end, there were several items that I've managed to find that look like they could be useful to me
one was a hard cover book, with worn out pages, titled 'Everything you need to know about Aura (and different methods to cultivate it)' written by, quite surprisingly, Glynda Goodwitch herself
I ate it, just like what I did with the paper, and the taste is still just as terrible as the last time
Ding!
You have learned [Intermediate Aura Manipulation]: Allows you to perform more complex and difficult tasks with your Aura control
You have learned [Aura Burst]: By condensing a part of your body with Aura before immediately expelling it at the moment of impact, your movement speed and strength will vastly increase for a very short amount of time
Alright, not bad, brilliant even. I could seriously think of so many use for this [Aura Burst] skill that it's making me giddy from the inside
It took me several second to turn back to reality, aftter that I inspected the second one
This one was a glass vial containing a magenta-colored liquid inside, with a 'do not touch' label on it, probably as a warning from Dr.Evil to those who gets thirsty while being in his lab
But since the label does not have a physical form nor any evil spirits guarding it, it couldn't stop me from drinking the mysterious-looking serum anyway
Ding!
You have learned [Poison Resistance]
You have learned [Poisonous Blood]
Hmm...fascinating. Moving on!
The third one is an old book, again. Jokes aside, it actually looks older than the other two combined, the cover has been worn out so much that only the paper remained. The book was titled 'old tales of Remnant' on it's front page
...Nah, maybe I'll eat it later, I'm pretty tired of books already
The book was then stored inside my clothes
I turned my attention to the last object I found. This one was a black case, sealed off with three seperate iron lock and have a piece of paper attached to it
'Protototype #666'
That's all the piece of paper said. I was intrigured at the mysterious vibe this is giving me, so with a swipe of my claw, the locks got broken and fell off their hinges. Touching the side of the box, I gently opened the case, revealing...
Inside were two other notes
"This weapon has been deemed too unstable and inefficient for the standard Huntman to utilize. It has been issued by the high council of Atlas that these two guns were to be terminated along with the rest of project Hellsing for safety purpose, and only by members that participated in the project themselves for security measures"
Project Hellsing? What the heck was that?
I tossed the first note to the side, before picking the other up and read it
"Prototype #666, codenamed Blitz (Black) and Pulse (White), are designed as a new generation of weapon that can operate completely independent on the usage of Dust. The user need not to reload everytime they ran out of bullets in the magazines, for the bullets themselves will never ran out. These two gun's only ammunition is the user's Aura, which they only need to condense before directing them into the chamber, after that they can be all fired at once with a pull of a trigger.
The unique thing replacing Aura as bullet is that the more they are condensed, the more destructive they will be. With that said, if one were to channel their Aura to a certain point before releasing it, the velocity at which they leave the muzzle will rival a high-calibre sniper rifle, and the sheer force they generated at the moment of impact may even surpass an artillery gun. In a sense, this could be considered an all-in-one package, assuming the user can change the density of their Aura without no problem that is
However, using #666 does have very concerning disadvantages. For example, one could easily get their Aura depleted if they use it too much. One can also suffer severe whiplash from the recoil if they gather too much Aura before releasing them. That is not to mention #666 most glaring drawback: They are expensive as shits. Really, these two guns cost more than two Bullhead and an Apple Pro Stand combined, and that's not even taking the taxes into the equation! And they are considering terminating it?!"
I sweatdropped at the last line. The dude is just straight out ranting at the cost of the weapon there
"#666 can also be turned into a pair of blades which can be used at short range, at this form the user can directly channel their Aura into the blade itself without no need of condensing them. Of course, it will takes more Aura out of you but who cares, swords are cooler than guns anyway"
Yeah well, swords are cool until you get a bullet into your fucking brain, so just stop with that bullshit okay?
Taking the two guns out from the case, I found a small button at their back and pressed them. Blitz and Pulse then turned to their sword form
Hmmm...it is acceptable I guess? Better a gun-sword than a gun-gun and or a sword-sword
Clank Clank Clank Clank
The sound of footsteps hitting the metal floor echoed in the hallway behind me. I turned around as I put the weapon in my cloak, expecting some troops who came for me, but it was just the children coming back from the armory, carrying the weapons in their arms
handgun, shotgun, assault rifles, SMGs, sniper fifles, pulse rifles, machine guns, several dozens combat knives, grenade launchers, rocket launchers, flashbangs, gas grenades...and many more
I know I ordered them to take everything, but damn, I didn't know there would be this much
I took a look at the children putting the weapon down with no visible effort on their part. It seems that being part-Grimm does grant one superior physical abilities compared to others. This is good news to me, since the chances of them surviving the ordeal has become slightly higher now, it will also means I have more time to escape
Now, all I need to do is to let them choose their own weapon before I started teaching them about how to handle it
I looked to Cinder to see what she's doing, only to make a double take
.....
".....Is that a cannon in your arms?" She stopped in her track, like a child being caught stealing candy at night
"Well yes" She hugged the thing closer "I love this cannon. Can you let me keep it?"
Cinder turned to look at me with sparkling puppy eyes
Girl, don't test me. I may look soft on the outside, but I'm used to this, cuteness won't affect me
...
"....Please?"
....
"Pretty please?"
.....
"Pretty please with a cannon on top?"
...
I threw my hands up
"Alright, do whatever you want with it. I don't care"
"Yay!" A smile bloomed on Cinder's face "I can finally blow people to pieces just like what you did with that soldier!"
"Hey, not fair!" One of them shouted "I also want a cannon like her!"
"Well you better suck it up, because I'm not handing this precious thing to you" She hugged the big cannon and hid behind me, all the while glaring at themI brought my hands up in an attemp to calm the children down before they got too loud "Don't argue you guys, there's plentiful of weapon for you to choose from"
They turned toward the enormous pile of weapon which had accumulated in the corner, then looked at each other
"I call dips on the grenade launchers!" One of them said as she lunged at the mountain of weapons
"Jokes on you, I'll have these babies" Another one exclaimed and pulled out a twin pair of SMGs
"flashbang flashbang flashbang, gotta blind em' all!" A boy get closer and pocketed them in his large pockets, all the while giggling to himself in an evil way
All the others started rushing to the massive weapon pile before diving in, hoping to gain some cool weapon for themselves
"Fuck off Betty, this shotgun is mine!"
"Oh? Then why don't you hand me the other two pistols strapped on your waist to me?"
"Finder's keepers, they are mine and mine alone"
"Ahem, you mean OUR weapon"
"Go screw yourself and that communism ideology off yours, Marx"
"What do you mean, comrades?"
...Of course there were several conflicts, but those were taken care of pretty quickly. Soon enough, I found myself staring at a bunch of armed and ready kids with determination in their eyes
They have all organized themselves into smaller group, each group carrying one type of gun on their hands. Some consists of snipers, some have machine guns, some were only equipped with knives and flashbangs
Good, this will make things easier
I started with the flashbang group first before moving on to the others. The children all "Oohhh" and "Ahhhh" as I explained the mechanic of each guns to them and how to operate them, their eyes shone with excitement. After that I made a revision to see if they understand it. Apart from some mistakes, they seems to have all grasped the basic concept of the weapon they're holding
It is then that the unexpected strike
"But Boss, what about the plan? What are we supposed to do?" One of them suddenly asked
I frozed up in my spot
To be truthful, I don't have a plan
No, the plan has been to set them free in hope of them rampaging the army camp. But it has been made back when I thought the Grimm hybrids are just mindless beasts with humanoid form, and not a bunch of normal children with Grimm traits on their body.
As I said before, I'm not evil, and I'm not heartless enough to just send them to their death. That's why I'd given them weapon in the first place, so that they might have a chance of surviving out there
Sadly, that's as far as my remaining human empathy goes. The kid'd made their choices and I'm not gonna do anything to change it. As far as I know, I never have a plan for them to begin with
"Ugh..." I turned toward them with the most exasperated expression I could mutter "Seriously, after all I've taught you, you guys still didn't know the plan?”
They all shook their heads, while a few looked down in shame
"Cinder! Do you understand the plan or not?”
Said girl looked up, still petting the cannon in her hands. She put the thing to the side and hastily stood up
"While I'm not arrogant enough to say that I completely understand what you intended for us to do, I can see how we're going to do it given the gadgets we have. By utilizing each of thes-"
"Good, then you're in charge of the operation now"
She blinked "What? You can't be serious, I'm not fit for that. Trust me, I didn't even have leadership experience before. This whole thing will fail if you let me be in charge!"
"Have some confidence in yourself, girl" I said "You are more capable at leading others than you thought"
"R-really?" She looked up at me with her big amber eyes "You have that much confidence in me?"
"Yes I do" Considering that she managed to recruit Roman Torchwick and Adam Taurus to basically become her bitch in canon, I have no doubt about it
I would actually feel safer if Cinder is in charge of this thing than I did
"Now that you have a leader to guide you, my job here is done" I turned around and walked through the remains of the metal door which I'd blasted away previously. It's past 12:30 now, the guards would notice their colleague's absence any time soon
"Hey, wait!" Cinder called after me, making me turned around
"Before you go, please tell us who you are!"
She was looking at me seriously, which makes it quite hard for me to refuse.
Well, since it's just a name, there's no harm in telling that to her, right?
"My name is (Y/n)"
<><><><><><><><>
They watched as (Y/n)'s shadow disappeared behind the hallway, just as sudden as his entrance had been
A thick silence descended upon them. This man had bursted through the door like a wrecking ball, released them from the cages that had held them for months, or even years to some of them. He provided weaponry for them, so that they could fight back against the human, and then he was gone
In the eyes of the children, (Y/n) is nothing short of a saint, a messiah sent by god, or even god himself. After all, what could he be if those title can't even describe him?
As for Cinder's part, she was simply stunned. The girl'd heard that name from before, but she just can't remember when, where and how she knows it. It's like a memory that is lost in her head, can't be recalled, yet can't be discarded. Blurry and hazy, like looking through a hae of mists…
She blinked, and the sensation was gone. Frowning, she stood up, drawing the other's attention toward her
"Alright, listen up" She said, her voice carry a hint of authority, making them instinctively straighten their back "The chief commander had made me in charge of this operation. As such, I will explain in details about his plan for all of you. You better listen well, because I won't be repeating it again. Is that clear?"
Her cold looks practically sent shivers down their spines
"Roger!"
The Midnight Operation has just only begin

Author's Note: I literally have nothing to write, so here's an image of Keeanu Reeves for you guys, enjoy!
Consider this as make up for the trauma of last chapter's image
