Hello and welcome to the first World of Pegs’ official blog! Today we will be finding some fun things to do with pegs. Let’s just get straight into it!

Pegs, or clothespins in America, are ‘a forked piece of wood or plastic or a small spring clamp used for fastening clothes on a clothesline’ but trust me, they are so much more than that..!

First of all, you can obviously use them to hang your clothes on the line? Where’s the fun in that? That’s right– there is none! Now here are some fun things you can do with pegs!

Painting with pom-poms

All you need is pom-poms, paint, pegs and a piece of paper and off you go! Pick up the pom-pom and dip in the paint so you don’t get your fingers covered in paint!

Guess Who

You can use the pegs to peg up pictures of characters on a board and play a game of Guess Who!

Peg Race

You can have a basket of pegs each and race to see who can put the most pegs on an object first– whoever gets the most in the shortest amount of time wins!

Hide n’ Seek

Find all of the hidden pegs before the timer runs out– can you do it? Let’s find out!

And that is just the beginning of all the fun things you can do with pegs! There is so much more to do with the little clippers that if I wrote them all down, you wouldn’t ever finish this blog! So that’s why I have to end it here.. Come back next week for a new blog post! Bye!

If you search up 'clothespins' on Wikipedia and scroll down to 'External Links', you will find that The World Of Pegs is listed there! How peg-cellent, am I right?  Anyways, moving off of that topic, here we have ten answers to the question, 'Do you like pegs?'

'No because I am not crazy, like you, am I? I'm not tapped in the head' - Miley W.

'Yeah. They're useful' -Travis B.

'Yeah. You can hang things with them and use them as nails' -Tilly M.

'Yeah, I have one'  -Maya B.

'It depends if they pinch me. If they pinch me, no. But if they are kind..' -Brooklyn M.

'They can hang stuff up and it means that I don't need to put my laundry away because I can just hang it up in my room' -Thea I.

'They hurt.' - Theo P.

*silent nod* - Annonymous

*shakes head in disapointment* -Annonymous

*shrug* 'I guess' - Annonymous

Overall, the answers were great! People love pegs. That is literally it for now!

The World Of Pegs - a book in the making.

That's right! A book made of pegs. It's going to be available on the website.. just not in person. It wont be a physical book - more like an e-book! Anyways, here is a short snippet of  the introduction- WHO/WHAT/WHEN!

Pegs, or clothespins, were first made in 1809 by Jérémie Victor Opdebec who patented his version of the clothes peg. Nothing else is known about this man except for the fact that his name sounds Beligan. Now, there are a few different types of peg. Stainless steel, wooden and plastic.

The book does not have an official release date yet so we'll keep you updated! But that's it! Only a short blog post this weekend because I'm a bit busy! But thank you for reading and see you next weekend!

Apologises!

Recently, our team has been busy working on other projects and we are starting to lose track of time, missing out on our blog posts! We've been busy writing stories, making videos and films. Stuff like that. We should keep posting but it's becoming really difficult, with all the things we are busy doing! But don't worry - we will try to keep you updated from now on, even with a short blog post (like this one)!

So, back to what we all came here for.. Pegs. Now, we have a random topic today, based off of The Daily Peg - a newspaper that was available on the old website (and is stil available in the new archive! Read more about it here!) and that is..

PEG - in many different languages.. except it's only 4 languages..!

In French, 'Peg' is 'Cheville'.

In German, 'Peg' is 'Pflock'.

In Italian, 'Peg' is 'Piolo'.

In Spanish, 'Peg' is 'Clavija'.

Thanks for reading! It means a lot!
