About The Author

Matthew Shilvock is an English fantasy author from Stourbridge in the West Midlands. His work combines humorous fantasy, epic adventure and expansive worldbuilding. Major influences include Terry Pratchett’s Discworld novels and the Dragonlance series by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman.

His stories are set in the world of Axalar, a shared setting spanning multiple novels and series. Axalar is a world where the legendary First-Age of dragons, magical relics and heroic deeds has given way to a Second-Age dominated by guild politics, bureaucracy and paperwork, where even the gods occasionally wish mortals would stop interfering.
