Matthew Shilvock is an English fantasy author from Stourbridge in the West Midlands. His work combines humorous fantasy, epic adventure and expansive worldbuilding. Major influences include Terry Pratchett’s Discworld novels and the Dragonlance series by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman.

Creator of Axalar, a fantasy world filled with legendary creatures, old and powerful magic, mountains of paperwork and gods who wish mortals would just stop helping.

Either way. Axalar is a humorous fantasy world, filled with satire and dry wit. The narrator uses a wry, third-person omniscient style. The characters range from immensely powerful, to immensely incompetent.
