John 14:13-14
Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.

As we seek to follow Jesus into the pursuit of pastoral ministry, we are gripped by a sense of dependence on Him to empower, equip, guide, teach, and sustain us. We are confident that the path we walk is not of our own making or choosing, and therefore want to walk it with ever-greater degrees of prayerfulness. We invite you, brothers and sisters, to do the same for us. The Creator and Sustainer of the universe, Giver of all good things, has purposed the prayers of his people to be a means of His acting in the world. What a privilege!
We have learned that prayer can be hard in the midst of our fast-paced lives. It requires intentionality to set time aside to focus our whole attention on the Lord. For our mutual encouragement to pray, below is a button to a simple form where you can sign up for a day of the week on which you will be striving to pray for us. We in no way want to encourage legalism. There are no requirements. This is simply a tool to help encourage consistent prayer, while also greatly encouraging us who need to be reminded of all the people we have praying for us on this journey. There will also be a place to put your email address. Our goal is to send monthly update emails which will also link you to this site.

That we may "hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering", with ever-increasing strength (Heb. 10:23)
That we may raise our children with all wisdom "in the training and instruction of the Lord" (Eph. 6:4)
That as a couple and family we may "love one another earnestly from a pure heart" (1 Pet. 1:22)
That "that God may open to us a door for the word", and the courage to proclaim Christ as we daily live our lives in a broken world (Col. 4:3)
That we "may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that [we] may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God." (Eph 3:18-19)
For wisdom in what to bring with us to Minneapolis and what to sell/give away
For safe and peaceful travels on our three-day journey from Boston to Minneapolis
That we may quickly find and buy an affordable and reliable car for Nathan to use once we are in Minneapolis
That the Lord would provide us with all we need financially, and the wisdom to steward His resources well
That He would help Nathan to establish a healthy balance early on between work, seminary life, church apprenticeship, and family life
That He would provide a community of believers in which "the word of Christ dwells richly" (Col 3:16), where we may "bear one another's burdens" (Gal 6:2), and where we may use our gifts to serve
That he would provide us with affordable housing near enough to the church (where we will attend and Nathan will apprentice at), the seminary, and an outdoor space where the kids can play
That our housing would provide us the opportunity to befriend our neighbors and share Christ with them
Nathan was connected to a pastor of a local church which has a long-standing four-year apprenticeship program for men seeking to be trained to be pastors. We plan to attend there the first Sunday we arrive and see if this is where the Lord wants us to do life with a local body of believers.
