There have been homes on this land for more than 50 years.
It’s an convenient location close to shops, GP surgeries, bus routes and community facilities.
There are many local people who need an affordable home, which is highlighted by the number of people on the Council’s housing needs register.
There are also many who need easy access to services and a home designed to suit their mobility needs.
The White House site offers an ideal spot for B3Living to develop accessible homes in Cheshunt.
The previous White House was built in the 1960s. We looked at refurbishment, but unfortunately the building had an out-of-date design with poor energy efficiency and internal layouts, and that wasn’t fit for purpose when compared with modern standards.
The old building was demolished in 2020.
Since then, the land has been empty, which is far from ideal for neighbours.
We want to get the future of this site settled and bring it back up to a standard where it makes a positive impact and enhances the overall appeal of the street.
