About

What we do

theWagerLine reviews online casinos, sportsbooks, and poker rooms available to Canadian players. We rate operators on licensing, payout speed, game selection, support, and a handful of other things that actually matter when you’re choosing where to play.

We focus on Canada. Ontario has its own regulated market through iGaming Ontario and the AGCO. The rest of the country operates under provincial frameworks and international licensing. We cover both.

Who runs it

theWagerLine is a registered trade name of PHLEEBSE Consulting & Finance Inc., a federally incorporated Canadian company. Based in Ontario.

The site is run by a small team, not a content farm. Reviews are based on research into operator terms, licensing, public regulatory filings, and direct comparison against our scoring system.

Editorial, search and SEO

Our reviews and rankings are produced in house and scored against the framework on our How We Rate page. We work with ePropel Digital, which helps with content, search, and SEO so the right pages reach the right readers. Editorial decisions and operator ratings stay with our team. ePropel does not decide which operators we recommend or how they score. You can find ePropel at epropeldigital.com.

Philipp Melbinger

Philipp Melbinger advises theWagerLine on strategy and review methodology, and fact checks our operator pages and content. He spent close to ten years working for an iGaming affiliate, with hands-on experience in performance marketing, search, and market development across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe. That background shapes how theWagerLine looks past operator marketing to how licensing, payouts, bonus terms, and player protection actually work.

How we make money

We’re an affiliate site. When you click a link to an operator and sign up, we earn a commission. That commission doesn’t change your odds, your bonus, or what you pay. It’s how we keep the lights on without charging readers anything.

It also means we have an incentive to recommend operators that pay us. We try hard not to let that bias what we say. Our ratings come from a consistent scoring system, and when an operator is bad, we say so, even if they pay us well.

If we don’t earn a commission from an operator, we’ll still review them if they matter to Canadian players. Our How We Rate page explains the scoring system in detail.

What we don’t do

We don’t take money for positive reviews. We don’t run “sponsored” reviews dressed up as editorial. We don’t hide negative findings to keep affiliate deals.

We’re not a sportsbook. We’re not a casino. We don’t take bets, hold funds, or process deposits. We’re a directory and review site.

Mistakes

We try hard to get things right. We will sometimes get things wrong. Operator terms change, bonuses get pulled, payout speeds shift, licensing details get updated. If you spot something out of date or incorrect, email contact@thewagerline.com and we’ll fix it.

Responsible gambling

If gambling is causing problems for you or someone you know, stop and get help. In Ontario, call ConnexOntario at 1-866-531-2600, free, confidential, available 24/7. Across Canada, similar services exist in every province. We list them on our Responsible Gambling page.
