We are a volunteer organization for young, business-minded women with the goal to provide service and charity in our community, with a focus on improving the lives of women and children.
Our club offers its members the opportunity to develop valuable leadership skills while providing service to our community, and building friendships with women with similar interests.
The objectives of Venture Club:
To unite and promote the spirit of service and true friendship among its members.
To develop interest in and concern for public affairs and service.
To encourage women in business and professions to maintain high ethical standards in accordance with the ideals of Venture Club and Soroptimist organizations.
To make Venture Club a factor in community welfare and betterment through community service.
What do we do?
Venture has three components. We focus on serving our community, fundraising to support our efforts, and social events to foster friendship among our members.
Service: We choose a different major club project to focus on each year. We offer hands on help for their various projects and we pitch in to do a major project for them ourselves. In the past, we have worked with organizations like The Club for Youth, KAAP, Cornerstone Mission, the City of Kingman's Park and Rec Department, and Diana's Faith House.
Fundraising: Venture raises funds a variety of ways. In the past, we hosted Casino Nights as a major club fundraiser. Currently, we're planning our next Cornhole Tournament. We have tended bar, sold pies, and even cleaned windows and pulled weeds! Money raised allows us to offer our scholarships, donate to worthy causes, and help our community through our major club projects.
Social: We value the friendships fostered through Venture. Our members hold member, partner, and family events throughout the year to bring us together and remind us why we do what we do.
