A Note from the Director
Jean Ngooi
The Things I Feel is a culmination of my love of science fiction stories. As the technology in our world rapidly advances, I wanted to tell a story that investigates elements of where we might be headed in the future but is kept grounded in humanity. Hence, at its core, The Things I Feel is a simple tale about human connection.
In the creation of this film, the show ‘Black Mirror’ and the book ‘Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?’ by Philip K. Dick were some of my major influences. Moreover, I adore some of the robot short stories written by Isaac Asimov, with Robbie and Light Verse being some of my absolute favourites.
Making this short was a whirlwind of an adventure and I truly hope that audiences are able to find some connection to Hadley and Charlie.
