Thaecia Electoral Commissioner, Terentiland, resigned on March 16th, 2020. His resignation came to a shock to many figures within Thaecia, as he was very popular in the area of expertise. This resignation lead to a committee being formed by President Titanne, Former Prime Minister Andurse, and Terentiland. It was composed of questions which helped pick a new Electoral Commissioner that will best serve Thaecia. The President nominated Chief Justice, Rhyssua of Thaecia High Court, to be the next Electoral Commissioner. With the President posting on the regions RMB, "In the days since Terentiland announced his resignation, me, him, and Andusre have worked very hard to find a suitable replacement. We wanted someone knowledgeable, someone smart, and someone active. I believe that we’ve found that person. He has big shoes to fill, but his Size 11 feet will have no problem. Rhyssua, congratulations! I now officially nominate you to be the Electoral Commissioner.

I’m confident that Rhyssua will perform the tasks of the E.C. with grace and dignity. His level-headedness and fierce independence make him the obvious choice for the job, and his knowledge of the region the perfect choice.

As for the Commission as a whole, some things are already under way:Terentiland is ready to advise Rhyssua if he needs anything, and DEC suggestions are abundant.

Now, let’s get to work." The nominee, Rhyssua, replied to the announcement by the President by saying the following, "Thank you Mr. President, for you nomination and your faith in me. As commissioner, I promise to uphold the integrity of Thaecia's elections impartially and effectively. I'm looking forward for a new opportunity to serve the region.

While it pains my heart to say it, I am therefore resigning from my post as Chief Justice. I think I'm starting to come down with I-wasn't-a-good-CJ syndrome, but it was nonetheless a good job and gave me the chance to work with a great group of people. I'll miss working with them, but as the saying goes, duty calls." The Electoral Commissioner nomination now rests in the hands of the House as current debating on his nomination for EC is taking place. If confirmed, the Electoral Commissioner will have lots of work to do as two MP's resigned amid change of political parties and will instead will run in by-elections, and another MP resigned by leaving the region over politicals statements that were made on his part and were not well received by the citizens, a Senator resigned amid controversy among the citizens of Thaecia. The desk of the Election Commissioner will no doubt be busy.

At the time this way published, EC-Nominee Rhyssua had 6 ayes and 0 nays in the House confirmation vote.
