Classroom makes it easy for students and teachers to connect—inside and outside of schools.
Teachers can create and manage classes, assignments, and grades, as well as give direct, real-time feedback. Students are able to keep track of classwork and materials. Share resources and interact in class stream or by email. Submit their assignments and get feedback and grades right in Classroom.
Guardians can only receive email summary of their student’s work which includes information about missing work, upcoming assignments, and class activity. Guardians can’t sign into Classroom directly.
Free to schools and non-profits.
Onsite training session will be conducted at the beginning of every school year as an introduction to new teachers and as a review for others who have used Google Classroom before. For second week of September and October the Tech Tuesday after-school sessions will be on Google Classroom. If your team would like a session conducted during your plan time, simply contact the technology integrator to schedule a date and time.

Ever wondered how to consistently get students to settle down as they walk into the classroom? Here's an activity that can reduce those persistent questions," What are we doing today?" "Do we need our computers?" In this lesson students will be introduced to the daily "Do NOW" assignment through Google Classroom and begin to develop the habit of mind to routinely engage in the daily "Do NOW" activity through Google Classroom to begin EVERY class.
STEP 1: Follow the steps in Section 1 Getting Started of the The Teacher's Guide to Google Classroom to create a Google Classroom course for your class.
STEP 2: Create a "quick 10 minute" assignment in your Google Classroom, see Section 4 of the The Teacher's Guide to Google Classroom , that will either review yesterday's lesson, check for understanding of the homework completed, or introduce a new concept or topic. This can be used with any subject or topic, and can take many forms such as a Google Doc with a "quick" writing prompt or problem to be solved
STEP 3: Have students login and access your Google Classroom through the "Join Code" you provide them. They will then see the "Do NOW" assignment in the Steam Tab. Students will click on the assignment and follow the directions provided in the Google Doc. Once completed students will turn it into Google Classroom
STEP 4: Teacher can choose to review specific student answers by projecting the Grading section of the assignment.

CCSS.MATH.PRACTICE.MP1: Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them.
CCSS.MATH.PRACTICE.MP4: Model with mathematics.
CCSS.MATH.PRACTICE.MP5: Use appropriate tools strategically.
