Our Engineers will work with teachers to prepare for the coaching cycle.
GOAL SETTING:
The teacher and engineer work in partnership to set goals with an area of teaching / learning that the teacher would like to focus on.
Initial data collection or observation of classroom environment and students takes place; ideally this involves video taping with a Swivl camera.
The teacher engages in watching the video footage and reflects to refine the goals.
LEARNING:
The teacher and engineer meet to discuss an instructional strategy and to plan a lesson.
The engineer models the strategy and with a gradual release model the teacher uses the strategy.
REFLECTION:
Follow up data is collected through video taping the teacher delivering the lesson.
The teacher views the video and further reflects on the goal.
The teacher and engineer meet to reflect on the use of the strategy and if goals were met.
