Physics

Physics is the branch of natural science that studies the physical world around us. Physics explores the patterns that are present in the observable universe, including kinematics, dynamics, energy, electromagnetism, optics and more.

In the 20th century, quantum mechanics tore through our understanding of classical physics. In 2012, the discovery of the Higgs boson strengthened the Standard Model of particle physics. Physics, like most things in life, is far from “solved”, and physicists around the globe continue to use experimental evidence, measurement and mathematics to uncover everything from the behaviour and properties of subatomic particles to the fundamental forces that govern space, time and matter throughout the universe.

Whichever branch of physics you prefer, we hope you enjoy our physics submissions.

Q: Why can’t you trust atoms?

A: Because they make up everything.

But do you know who you can trust?
