Germany Study Visa Process

Visa Fees: - Visa Fees for Germany study visa is 75 euros plus appointment charges 896 INR while taking appointment.

· VFS Logistics INR 891/- (Inclusive of Goods & Service Tax –SGST @9% and CGST@9%) will be charged for submission of passport for National Visa issuance

· Visa Stamping INR 1046/- Inclusive of Goods & Service Tax –SGST @9% and CGST@9%) will be charged for submission of passport for National Visa issuance.

· Courier Fee (Optional) INR 528/- (Inclusive of Goods & Service Tax –SGST @9% and CGST@9%)

Documents Required:-Travel insurance is mandatory for all Schengen countries. If you have not purchased,

1. Visa application form: to be filled out in English signed by the applicant

2. Applicant's passport: issued within the last 10 years, Clear Photocopy of front and last page and used pages

3. Three photographs: please see the information on the Photo Specification page.

4. Travel health insurance to cover the possible expenses related to repatriation, for health reasons, urgent medical assistance and/or urgent hospitalization, with the minimum coverage of EUR 30 000.

5. Declaration for Additional contact and legal representation information

6. Copy of your passport’s data page (A4 size copy)

7. Statement of purpose / Motivation letter

8. Proof of admittance to the study course/preparatory college (original and 2 copies) including information on the language of instruction

9. Where not confirmed by the University in the admission notification: Proof of the language skills in the language of instruction for the study course or the preparatory course (without a preparatory language course as a rule at least B2-level in the language of instructions) (original and 2 copies)

10. Where applicable: Certificates of other academic qualifications (original and 2 copies)

11. Curriculum vitae

12. Proof of financial means to cover the costs for the time of your studies by one of the following documents:

- Confirmation of a German / EU scholarship / stipend or

- “Verpflichtungserklärung” (formal obligation letter) by sponsor living in Germany or

- Blocked account for the first year of your stay, amounting to 10.332,-- € When applying for visa, you can provide evidence that you are able to meet your living costs by opening a blocked bank account.

Please prepare two identical application sets with the above-mentioned documents and bring your original certificates as well as your original employment contract along. Please DO NOT staple any documents.

Steps for getting study visa:-

Step1.Once you are ready to apply, please fill the visa application form and arrange your documents as per the checklist.

Step2. Once you have filled your visa form, you need to book an appointment from VFS to have your fingerprints and photo taken at a Visa Application Centre. This is known as ‘biometric information’.

Step3. Once you have made your application, you will need to pay your visa application fee. If you download the form to print and bring to the Visa Application Centre, payment can be made at the time of your appointment. You will have to pay the Visa fee at the Visa Application Centre in Cash.

Step4. You’ll have to submit your complete visa application form at the Visa Application Centre in person.
