Part 14

Finally, the meeting was about to begin. The Bosses of the Flower, the Heart, the Star, the Triangle, the Angels, and, of course, the Spiral would all be present.

The first to arrive was Eucalyptus, accompanied only by her two sub-bosses, Zephyr and Shaya. Next came Lysa, bringing her sub-boss, Takeo. Eucalyptus and Lysa exchanged a few words, their friendship now well-established. Then Moki arrived with NaïKu; before joining the group, the two of them stepped aside to discuss something in private. When Yachi showed up with her sub-boss Henry and her wife Shizuko, she explained, "I can’t leave her alone; I’d feel too guilty," when asked why she had brought her along. MaïRu arrived next, with his rather disheveled sub-boss HaïRo. Zephyr couldn't resist teasing him, earning a playful smack from Shaya to keep him quiet. HaïRo laughed it off, and Shaya seemed relieved that he took it well. Almost simultaneously, Kraken entered with his sub-boss Snowfly. He clearly didn’t want to be there, but his role in Liberty left him with no choice. Finally, Kathi arrived with her two sub-bosses, Luciole and Elsa. Elsa had books and papers in hand, likely to take notes during the meeting.

They all took their seats around the table and began discussing the mission: destroying the Cross.

“I think you should go to Libstek to recruit the Boss of the Tear, Euca,” Yachi said, crossing her arms.

“That’s too dangerous. It’s not even an option,” MaïRu replied, placing his hand on the table, looking worried.

“MaïRu, Yachi is right. We need more power, and we all know that the Boss of the Tear is extremely powerful,” Lysa said softly.

“But the problem is that the Boss of the Tear is not friendly. We don’t know their name, or anything about them. We just know they’re a killer who enjoys what they do on their island,” Kathi said, her voice tinged with worry.

“I think… we should go to Litkesb anyway. We’re powerful. I can go with Euca,” Moki said, unusually serious.

“Moki! You can’t. It’s too dangerous. No one has ever returned from Libstek,” NaïKu said, deeply concerned about his boyfriend’s safety.

After a long debate, they finally reached a decision. Kathi summarized everything.

“Okay, so. Eucalyptus will go to Litkesb with her two sub-bosses, Shaya and Zephyr. Moki will go too, with NaïKu, his sub-boss.”

Everyone agreed. Moki cast a worried glance at NaïKu.

“Are you sure, love? That you want to go with me?”

“Of course. I will never let you go alone,” NaïKu responded softly, placing his hand on Moki’s shoulder.
