My main story is set in the year 530. The timeline begins at Year 0, marked by the Big War—a devastating conflict that claimed millions of lives and nearly wiped out the world. You'll find out how and why it happened in the details below.
It all began in the year -16 with the birth of Asael and Shaya. They grew up together, as their parents were very close, and they became best friends—perhaps even something more.
But when Asael turned 14, they began to change, acting strangely. Shaya, who loved them deeply, didn't think much of it at first. Maybe she should have.
As time passed, Asael's desire for power grew stronger. Driven by this hunger, they formed what they called "the Organization." The troubling part wasn't the formation of the group, but its purpose—it was created solely to conquer the world.
At first, no one took Asael seriously, except for Shaya. She knew them better than anyone and sensed they weren't joking. She began to distance herself, but Asael didn’t care. Power was all that mattered to them, and Shaya no longer fit into their vision because, in their eyes, she wasn't powerful.
When Asael and their Organization began to kill, Shaya couldn't stand by and do nothing. She formed her own organization, and slowly, people started to see the threat Asael posed.
A year later, the world was divided into two factions: those who craved power and those who sought freedom. Asael and Shaya were just 16 years old when the greatest battle in history took place.
The two sides clashed in a war filled with genocide, despair, imprisonment, and torture. Billions perished, with hundreds dying every day. The war raged on for a year. But how did it end?
After months of conflict, Asael and Shaya came face to face. It wasn’t supposed to happen. Shaya was shocked, tears streaming down her face. After all, they had been best friends. But Asael had only one thought: if they killed Shaya, the war would end, and their Organization would prevail.
The final battle between them was fierce, both fighting with everything they had. In the end, Shaya’s sword pierced Asael’s heart. But even as they were dying, Asael, consumed by rage, struck back, slashing Shaya's neck, condemning her to certain death. They both perished.
Afterward, those who survived made peace, as their leaders were dead. Not everyone agreed, but the majority, scarred by the horrors of the past year, chose to end the conflict.
The residents of Orstyma? Oh, they’re all unique in a special way!
First off, everyone has the ability to shift between their human form and their specific animal form. They don’t get to choose their animal—it’s assigned to them at birth! For example, my main OC, Kumo, has a dog as its animal form. Kumo can transform into a dog or back into a human whenever it wants. However, like everyone else, Kumo’s primary form is human :].
In addition to this, many of the residents have powers! But not everyone—about 5% of the population doesn’t possess any powers at all.
The organizations are arguably the most crucial aspect of Orstyma—they function like the governing bodies of the world. Each region has its own organization, as shown on the map, with a total of eight organizations: the Heart, the Cross, the Angels, the Star, the Flower, the Spiral, the Tear, and the Triangle.
Each organization has its own set of rules, which often leads to conflicts and wars between them. Every organization is led by a single boss, who can appoint as many sub-bosses as they like (though it’s rare for a boss to have none).
To distinguish themselves, members wear pieces of fabric with unique symbols that represent their organization (you can see the symbols below). The Cross organization is a bit different—all members wear fabric with a cross symbol, but the three sub-bosses bear a cross-shaped scar instead.
The bosses have their organization's mark in their eyes, and they can choose to display this mark on their forehead whenever they wish.
After all of this, a new organization was eventually formed: the Liberty.
Throughout my lore, you'll come across individuals referred to as "souls."
The Souls have always existed, but their name has a specific origin. Originally, "Souls" referred to a ritual performed by a clan in the year 300. The goal of this ceremony was to create an immortal being. The clan focused their intentions on a "God," and each year, one person was chosen to be offered to this deity, with the hope of gaining immortality.
However, the ritual never succeeded, and everything came to an abrupt end after a tragic accident in 324.
A Soul is a person who can only die if they are killed by someone else. They are easily recognized by their physical mutations. Although they are already dead, they exist like ghosts, trapped in the physical body they had at the moment of their death.
A Final Form is an immensely powerful transformation, typically manifesting as a larger, more formidable version of the individual. Every being has a Final Form, but activating it inevitably leads to death. A Soul only comes into existence when a Final Form is triggered, though this doesn’t happen every time.
The process for unlocking a Final Form varies from person to person, and the exact method remains a mystery. A Final Form often reflects the individual’s unique powers—for example, Kumo’s Final Form is a massive dog made of mist.
In my lore, you'll also encounter demons, but they’re quite different from the traditional notion of demons. These mystical creatures are found throughout the wilds of Orstyma. They vary widely in intelligence, from highly intelligent beings to those with little to no cognitive ability. Their appearance can range from humanoid to completely non-human forms, much like the diverse animals in our world. However, unlike simple animals, some demons have unique and extraordinary traits.
