Respondents were recruited on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn through a convenience snowball sample. The researcher posted the link for family, friends and coworkers who would be interested in participating in this research and willing to send it to others as well. The target population was anyone over the age of 18 who does not attend Endicott College and are familiar with celebrities who have depression. Due to a wide target, the survey allowed for differing results and increase in response rates. This age group and population was chosen because some celebrities were known widely for the older generation, while some are more popularwith today's generation. If the participants are familiar with celebrities of depression before taking the survey, the data will be more accurate and personable.
