This is a short reflection piece I wrote about how we are dealing with my dad's late-stage struggle with dementia. I want to rewrite the piece from a purely optimistic standpoint: these are the gifts my dad gave us. But what makes this angle work is the juxtaposition of two images of my father–the man we experienced vs. the man we experience now.
