There are LOTS of wonderful non-profit organizations with facilities everywhere. To find information about what is around you, make a quick search like "volunteer opportunities!" A couple great places to get you started are Gleaners, American Red Cross or your local nature conservancy. 

Bring a smile to a patient at the hospital or a senior in the nursing home! If you are an artist or a big crafter, this is one of the best ways to get involved! Holiday cards are a perfect seasonal option, and pick me up pieces are just as impactful! 

If volunteering for an organization isn't your thing, simply donate to their cause instead Organizations like the African Library Project and Bricks of Hope are always taking donations to further their initiatives and help more people. Monetary donations are always helpful to any organization as well!  

Just by going to an event and paying for your ticket you are still making a difference. The money you spend while at the event goes to the organization or cause that the event is fundraising for!

Hosting your own event or fundraising by any means is an amazing way to put yourself out there and support a cause. By hosting a fundraiser you are able to support whatever organization or project you want! Be sure to figure out how the organization you're raising funds for accepts monetary or physical donations. 

Volunteering for community specific projects is the best way to start getting involved. Your local civic center, church, VFW, or high school might be holding an event you can be involved in! Volunteer notices are typically on their websites so be sure to check often!
