Far Eastern University came within striking distance of upsetting National University in their UAAP Season 88 Round 2 clash, falling just short at 70-64. But imagining an alternate ending raises questions about how FEU’s season and semifinals picture could have dramatically shifted.
FEU displayed resilience throughout the game, with key contributions from Owens, Pasaol, and Felipe keeping them in the hunt. Felipe’s three-pointer and Pasaol’s downtown shot tied the game at 40, while Jumamoy kept NU on edge late in the fourth quarter. Defensive plays, including Konateh’s rim presence, showcased the Tamaraws’ determination to fight back.
Despite the loss, FEU’s ability to rally against a dominant NU team highlighted their offensive depth and teamwork. Small adjustments—like better execution in the final possessions or converting key free throws—could have flipped the result in FEU’s favor.
