What is it?
Each student can rent up to 3 books through the bookstore.
Who can use this resource?
This resource is designed for low-income students and/or students with financial need. While technically anyone can use the resource, we ask that students individually investigate their personal needs and only request books if they place financial burden on them. Students can request fewer than 3 books.
How to access the resource?
The book program form is available at the beginning of each semester! Let us know if you have any questions.
What is it?
SCALE provides free hygiene supplies, school supplies, and other essentials. They usually occur at the beginning of the semester and sometimes toward the end.
Who can use this resource?
Anyone can come to these resource fairs and take what they need!
How to access the resource?
SCALE will send emails to undergrads and post on our Instagram about date, time, and location. Check the homepage to see if there is one coming up!
What is it?
The SCALE Project, thanks to a generous alum, funds internships for first-generation and/or low-income students for the 2023 summer, so they are able to gain experience in their field that they would have otherwise been unable to due to internships being unpaid or underpaid.
Who can use this resource?
Any first-generation and/or low-income undergraduate students. Internships should be 8+ hours of work per week for 6+ weeks. Students should have already applied for the internship and have a resume prepared for the application.
The 2025 Award cycle is confirmed, and more information can be found here. The Summer 2025 application will likely open in early March, but stay tuned for more information!
How to access the resource?
Applications are currently closed. We will update the homepage and our Instagram (www.instagram.com/thescaleproject) when the application is live again! It typically opens in late February/early March.
What is it?
The SCALE Project offers summer storage to low-income, first-generation, international, and out-of-state students utilizing the PODs company. In the past, students have been provided the opportunity to store up to 3 boxes and a mini fridge. Students are then provided a time to pick up their belongings when the school year begins. This program is variable depending on the amount of funding we have at the end of each semester.
Who can use this resource?
The application is open to all Bard students, but we ask that students gauge their own need as this is an incredibly limited but necessary resource.
How to access the resource?
At the end of each spring semester, we will provide more information on the summer storage for that year, and if we are able to provide that resource. An application form will be posted on our instagram as well as emailed to the undergrad!
