• Do I need to pay to be part of the community?

Absolutely not! Participation in the community and our events is completely free. Of course, if you order drinks or food at the bar, you will need to pay for those.

In the future, we may post events that require a fee due to the involvement of a third party (for example, a festival, a surf course, or an escape room). But aside from that, we won't charge you anything.

• I don't speak fluent English, is that a problem?

While English is the primary language of The Exchange, as it's the most widely spoken and understood, we welcome speakers of all languages. If your English isn't strong, don't worry! This is a great opportunity to learn. Even if you're not interested in improving your English, we're confident you'll find speakers of many different languages here.

• I feel shy attending the meetups alone, as it seems like everyone already knows each other.

It's completely normal to feel shy at first. Many people have shared that they hesitated before gathering enough courage to attend. Once they did, they wished they had come earlier. Every week, we welcome new participants who don't know anyone else. If you're still feeling shy, please contact us and we'll arrange a smoother introduction for you.

• How can I join?

There are several ways to join, depending on what you're looking for. You can simply drop by one of our meetups to get to know us. Alternatively, you can join our WhatsApp community, where you'll find groups of people sharing the same interests or suggesting spontaneous plans.
