FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Colorism is a variety of bigotry that stems from preordained notions about individuals with a darker complexion and is perpetuated via racialized stereotypical portrayals in the media. It is the ideology that people of color with lighter skin and Eurocentric qualities have greater privilege than those with darker skin and Afrocentric characteristics. The foremost focus of this project is to raise awareness and sensationalize the issue of colorism among Filipinos in such a way that every human from every corner of the country is given information through the power of the media about personal experiences of discrimination solely because of their skin tone, and how it is a caustic mannerism that is ravaging the psyches of the Filipino people.
Combating colorism is the core credo of this enterprise and organization via the empowerment of beautiful dark-skinned Filipinos with a unique way of reaching and executing this aim - modeling. The modeling profession is often regarded as the most prominent platform for disseminating a message about a demographic's attractiveness and desirability. This is an open potential for the initiative to convey a statement by finding and employing aspiring Filipino models who have been consistently disheartened and rejected by organizations merely because of their skin tone.
“Morenas Run the Runway!” has no plans of haggling the funds for the benefit of the team; it would be a strike straight in the heart to our ever-burning fervor. Instead, half of the project's earnings will be donated to charitable benefactions that mainly share the same advocacy that our project does but is open to other non-profit organizations that are timely. Once enough profit has been achieved, the project aims to start a modeling training program directed by experienced models that will take in anyone who is willing to become a full-fledged model in the future.
No. You've got it wrong. Despite the implication that the organization is exclusively selecting individuals within a specialized sequence of criteria, the modeling agency will function analogously to how other industries perform - it will constitute a group of models hired, either through scouting or through a direct application of the candidate, and will acknowledge everyone if they accommodate and master the requirements of being a model. The only distinction is that our modeling agency is not enticed by the contemporary industry's cultural colorist specifications, and everyone will be given an equal opportunity to pursue their dreams without the worry of standing on an uneven pedestal.
We are very much welcome to the possibility of partnering up with organizations that hold the same torch of advocacy as we do. Although it is projected that the project will launch as an independent modeling agency, should any offer from a company that is willing to be associated and partner up with nationalizing our message arise, we are very much open to the opportunity to do so.
