Thanks for your interest in the Hanover Park Sailfish Summer Swim team.
We hope this site will provide you with insight about our family run program.
Who can join?
Swimmers up to 18 years of age can join. We require swimmers to be able to swim a full length of the pool (25 meters). Some Sailfish have started as young as 6.

Come see us May 3rd at the Community Center from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Where do the Sailfish practice?
Seafari Springs Aquatic Center

When does Practice Start?
We would like to start practice after school for the last two weeks of May but this has not been the case the last few years due to the life guard shortage.
Practice has been starting the first week of June. Here are last year's practice times. We hope to follow these times in 2025.
8 and Under:
9:30-10:30 A.M.
Monday through Friday
9 -10 year olds :
9:00-10:30 A.M.
Monday through Friday
11 and Up:
7:00- 9:00 A.M.
Monday through Friday
Swim Meets
If you're new to a swim team you might be wondering about competition. The Hanover Park Sailfish swim against other park districts in the DuPage Swim and Dive Conference on Wednesday evening (5pm-ish to 9:00am-ish) and Saturday mornings (6:30am-ish to 11am-ish) mornings. We have 5 home meets and 4 away meets plus an A and B Conference meet.
Your swimmer will swim in either A or B conference. Based on the swimmers skill level- they will have anywhere from 2 to 5 events.
**If you can't make it to a meet, don't worry. We understand!**
Family Run
Swim teams are a bit different than a soccer team when it comes to competitions-- We rely heavily on volunteers.
We need help with timing, selling concessions, announcing, judging and more.
We know some of you may not have learned how to do some of these things- none of us did either when we started.
We will help find you a spot that you will be a huge help and NOT missing your swimmers events.
We also get it if you have little ones. All parents on the team has been there before. We do have jobs that are not during the meet as well.
